LONG POST ALERT:
Disclaimer: My interview was scheduled to be held on 12th but as it was clashing with RRB scale -I, I made a plea in the LHO (Kolkata) with a written application to change the date, being unsure if it'll all at be fruitful. Couple of days back only I got a call regarding date change, was still prepared to have it on 12th as it somehow didn't sound official (I might sound doped here). I must admit, the people over there are very considerate that I could actually have mine today itself.
Coming to the experience:
Reached venue at 7:40 AM ( LHO-Kolkata). Within 10 mins or so, document verification started and the process was smooth. Even if someone is not carrying any of the documents, they are cooperative enough to consider that with undertaking. (I needed none).
We were made to sit in the GD hall at around 9:30 and it started at 10. The topic was: "Should open book examination process be implemented?"
We were given 2 mins to jot the points down then 2 mins each to speak on it. Then it was open for all to come up with points and have a proper discussion.
Out of 15 candidates, only 1 was absent still the GD was conducted pretty smoothly. Nobody argued, almost no chaos. (saare achchhe bachche the). It ended at 10:45.
Interview experience was rather weird. The panel consisted of 4 males and 1 female member.
They seemed to be in such hurry that, I could not even get the chance to say Good morning nor could I say "may I come in" .. I mean wow!!! 😑 Right from the time I opened the door, the head of the panel started firing, "Come in, sit down, this is your grad subject.. okay, you don't have job experience and this subject has no relevance to banking and you didn't stay in that field also" 🔫 🔫 🔫
I was literally 😲 Was unsure for a while if it was my interview or I was just a silent spectator.
Then it went on like,
are you in touch with newspaper? tell me the current happenings and their economic and political aspects (kindly don't embarrass me asking the answers to any of the questions.. I am just informing what it was like 😑 )
do all army-men retire at the age of 40? what about the chiefs and heads? what exactly is their designation? about audits and accounts of a financial sector? *screwed screwed* 😞

what is meant by insider trader in foreign nations? is there any separate department for it?
what the the particular aspects of gdp?
3rd member:
do you support this continuous banning culture of government? why or why not? (turned out to be another gd) 😐 some questions regarding my extracurricular (singing and dancing)
4th member:
what is the need of having geosynchronous satellite when its purpose is to some extent served by geostationary? (in relation to one internship+training I did)
5th member:
about north east railway connectivity
That's all. I couldn't answer many and for the rest of the time I was simply guessing. 😖 Don't know if it was this grilling and out of the blue for all or was it just me.
Tomorrow I'm having RRB exam (for the reason, got my interview preponed) and I've zero preparation for it 😐 Feeling numb after today's experience.
