Bahut ho gayi padhai. Finally left studies for interview. Ek experience post hua, uske according padhai ki tab tak kuch aur naye questions post ho gaye. Fir padhai ki fir kuch aur questions post ho gaye. I realized now that preparing for interviews is not a one-week affair. What you've collected over past 3-5 years will matter. Chillaxing now! 😎

Interview:Who is head of Niti, tell me what do u know about NITI what is planning commision , why it was scrapped. Effects of having the members of NITI permanent and temporaray. Chain devaluation. Effect of Gold on indian economy in the era of 1990. Gold monetisation scheme launched recently. why crude oil prices going down. Lastly they started with demand-supply chain and it ended badly , I was exhausted,couldnt understand what they are asking for. I was blabbering my answers they were not satisfied.

GD Topic : "Should the power of the press be curbed ?" Easy enough. We were asked to speak serially for 2 minutes each and then had a rebuttal session of 10-15 minutes.
Had to wait 3 hours for my interview call. I was 12th out of 14 candidates.
I was expecting a long, tiresome interview but it was short and crisp.
5 members were there in the panel, 2 in front, 2 to the right and 1 to the left. I will call them as I1, I2, I3, I4, I5
Me: Good Evening !
Everyone: Please sit down
I1: So you are Gaurab ? Your dad works in SBI. Where is he posted ? What post ? What's special about the place where he works now ?
Me: Answered. Had no idea about the speciality of the place. It was agriculturally rich which I1 later told.
I1 : You work in TCS on mainframes. Right ? Why leave TCS, a job you got after leaving college ? Is mainframe a hardware or a software?
Went on asking me about details of my work.
Me: Explained as much as I could.
I1 : Which are the 2 banks which are systemically important banks as approved by the RBI ?
Me: I know that SBI is one.
I1: Why do you think SBI is one ? What will happen if SBI loses its stability ? What will the RBI do ?
Me: Used common sense and answered.
I2: Kept silent throughout but motivated me and provided me cues when I got stuck in a particular question.
I3: What is your take on the recent bans, like ban on books, movies, cow slaughter in India ?
Me: Expressed my views.
I3: What do you think about the talent of young India ? Is it being properly harnessed ?
Me: Again said what I could.
I4: Tell me what is meant by "Demographic Dividend" ?
Me: Had no idea. Tried to answer by relating demographics to population. I2 kept telling me I was going the right direction. They helped me get to the answer.
I5: You brought up the Constitution and Freedom of Speech in the GD. Where is Sovereign, Democratic etc stated ?
Me: Article 19(A) : Freedom of expression.
I5 looked unconvinced.
Me: Sir, the Preamble.
I5: Now you are on the right path. What else does it say ?
Me: Told.
I5: What else ? What other freedoms ?
Me: Confused. Said sorry, DK.
Everyone said Thank You.
As I was leaving I2 said : You could have said anything : Freedom of religion etc etc.
Me: Yes Madam. I could have.
Thanked them again and took my exit.
Overall I am confused about my performance and no questions about hobbies. Also was there for a mere 15 minutes. Dunno what is gonna happen.

Hey everyone , I am sharing my GD/PI experience. I had my GD
cum Interview on 8th September at 8 AM in SBI LHO Complex 11 Delhi
in Panel V.I was late in my whole group by 15 mins but none of the officials
bothered except few guards outside the complex. Few officials who were
verifying the documents were shouting continuously on everyone for every small
mistakes (probably they were not at all happy for this extra workload).It took
around 1 and half hour to complete them verification .By 9.30 we were all set
for GD .Board members came 5 mins before 10 and told us the GD rules and gave
us best wishes. Topic given was : " Is creation of payment banks necessary ? "
.Topic was disaster for many including me where in first 2 minutes we made many
blunders and and 8 out of 11 guys created payment banks for lending to farmers
and MSMEs. Chairperson clarified to us this mistake and open discussion later
on was quite good. Overall it was good but I noticed 1 or 2 board members were
literally sleeping and 2 persons were jotting down the points.
We were given breakfast after GD and interview started after that in no time .First few guys were interviewed very rapidly like in 20 - 25 mins , 3 ppl were done. I was 9th person to go in .I got call after some 1 and half hour .People who got selected in 2014 as PO were also there and they really motivated us ,they were coming and talking positively and asking us for water or anything. Those ppl were very helpful (Even we asked them that if we will be selected how much we are going to get in hand ?).So finally I entered in the room and wished chairperson ,who was sitting in the middle and then female board member who was in my left and then other 3 male members .They all were looking at my Bio data form.
As soon as I sat on the chair , chairperson asked me ..So you know Spanish ?
Me : yes
He asked some weird name in Spanish
Me: sorry sir I don't know what it is .
Suddenly Mam in my left (M1) said ' have u not studied history of spain' ?
Me : No mam , It was certificate course for basic Spanish language .
Another male member (M2) asked me ...But wasn't it a full year course ?
Me : Yes sir but we had classes thrice a week and that too for 1 hr only
To this he said OK
Other male member in my right (M3) asked me why u r only interested in foreign language , why not in Indian languages ?
Here I made blunder ,I started explaining him why I learnt foreign languages like Spanish and Russian rather telling him why not Vernacular languages ( It never clicked me that time that nobody provides courses for Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati and kannada languages ).
I was explaining him my interest in foreign languages and suddenly M1 asked me name of few of the oldest language , I was quite anxious and made another mistake ..i said Mandrin .
M1: No
Me : Tamil
M1 : yes and..
Me : Sanskrit
M1 : Hmm..and what was their before Sanskrit .
Me : Pali
M1 : yes .Ok
CP : how many schedule lang are there ?
Me : 22
Cp: Name them .
Me : told him some 5 6.
Cp : go on ...
He stopped after hearing some 16 17 languages .
Cp : so you are interested in Indian political system ?
Me : yes sir
Cp : tell me what is most beautiful thing about our political system .
Me : Told him that most beautiful thing is our constitution which has all the good features from diff diff const. of world pol systems. Gave him examples
He looked pleased .But asked me ok can u recite the whole preamble for me . I remember this word to word.
Me: sorry sir I don't knw whole preamble but can tell u gist of it , what is most imp thing in it .
CP : No I want complete .
Me : sorry sir .
M4 : what is difference between DPSP and FR ?
Me : answered.
Cp : and what about F duties ?
Me : answered.
Cp : if don't follow FD can any action be taken against me ?
Me: I said FD are not enforceable in court of law but there are many laws under which action can be taken against you and gave him few examples of such law.
CP : the way our parliamentarians behave is it good ? What is Ar 19 , why ppl resort to violence in Bands and Hartals ?
Me: answered and gave my personal opinion about this .
M3 : why they behave like that ?
Me : Criminal background ppl and I said this is fault with our system where we always look to stall anything . we are not learning from other economies .
M3 : which economies ?
Me : I gave example of japan where they work double at the time of strike .
M1 : so what will be the implication of working double shift and producing more ?
Me : answered ?
M1 : can you name me some economists ?
Me : Amartya sen
M1 : what he is famous for ?
Me : answered .
M1 : and some more economists ?
I was blank for few seconds , this was a very easy question and I was totally blank ,, in panic suddenly I said Gunnar Myrdal .
M4 : no not at all he was a political writer .
M1 : can you name the book of Gunnar Myrdal ?
I was thinking shit , what have I done .
Me: no mam sorry .
M1 : have you heard of ASIAN DRAMA . myrda wrote it
Me : Thank you mam .
M5 first time asked me any question .
M5 : Who developed SHG concept ?
Me : Bangladeshi economist but m not sure about the name .
M5 : okay tell me the concept

** Whole time in my interview M4 was shaking head in negative manner on my every answer , I don't know what he was trying to do . He looked totally unpleased with my answers.
I am an ECE engineer 2014 passed out .I am not at all confident in my technical knowledge so that's why I filled the bio data form in this manner that it draws their attention and automatically my whole interview was on my hobbies . It was my first interview and I thought it was good . It lasted around 20 mins .
Tips : Don't panic in any situation .Try to keep ur calm because you will be handling things better when you will be calm and composed .
Don't guess much , if you don't knw tell them .
Don't use absurdly any word (Like I did in Gunnar Myrdal case ) , next question may come from that .
Prepare bio data form in best possible manner and hobbies should be interesting if you really want them to ask questions from this area.
