In exam tention i have got fever and not able to study 😕.
Now that last 10 days are remaining for Mains Exam, and every one is deep into GA/ Mocks etc etc, I would like to share "What I would have done had I appeared this year for SBI".... (Last year I missed the SBI but made it in IBPS...so not giving SBI this year) (and its just an opinion, u can ignore it as well)
My Strength & Weakness: (Figure this out based on ur conviction & data) Logical Reasoning & English were/are my strength. GA is average. Quants/ DI my weakness.
1. One mock per day with focus on
(a) Revision: If mocks take 3 hours then do spend equal time in revision. Not only on mistakes/ weak points,,,,but also to sharpen ur strong points. Bcz in real exam scenario i would prefer attempting with 95-100% accuracy rather than other way round. And being sharp on 'strong areas' gives u advantage w.r.t 'time & stress level' in exam hall.
(b) Time Management & Decision Making: I have clubbed both bcz u can realize its importance when u 'read' the qs. Anyone should be real quick in deciding, 'which qs to attempt/ leave'. Like i do have difficulty in 'concentration' for longer than 2 hours, so I always keep 4-5 minutes 'relaxing time' even during exams and plan accordingly. SInce theres is differential marking, its a no brainer that one marker will be easier than 1.5 or 2 marker. So its very very important to go through entire question paper 1st to decide on 'attempts'
(c) Strategizing each section (before giving mocks/exam and even during giving mocks/exam) : My thrust would have been to score ---- 30+ in English, 30+ in Reasoning, around 25 in GA and 20 marks in Quants......if u see i have target exact 20 marks in quants (bcz its my weakness but with 100% accuracy)....so overall I would have targetted..around 105+ marks in objective (which should be good score this year for getting final selection).....now even "during giving mocks" i would have tried my permutation based on my strengths/ weakness and attempted around qs with 105 marks with 95-100% accuracy.....
2. Focus on Descriptive : This section is scoring irrespective of the difficulty level in objective part....and 40+ score is very much achievable.....based on last year paper I think one should always keep a watch on current event excluding banking/ finance/ economy as well....topics like H1B Visa, Ransomeware, Medical Tourisam (w.r.t Emam's case) etc can be useful....
3. Focus on GA: Divide it into 3 parts, like Current Affairs (last 3 months), Static GK, Banking/ Financial Awareness etc.....I think most of u are already deep into it so, skipping this part.
Note: Descriptive & GA can alone get u into 'safe zone' of selection, if u score well. Suppose Desc-40 marks & GA- 25 marks & in rest all u score around 20 marks on an avg, ur score will be 125....which will be a good score.
4. Focus on Core Elements: Prep done till now will help a lot, try to be 'invincible' in strong areas and 'stable/choosy' in weak areas. The paper will be heavily based upon CAT/GMAT level and practice from those reference points will come in handy. At this moment focus only on 'specific areas' like "puzzles on circular arrangement/ P&L DI's with 3 variables" etc.....
5. Last but not the least: KEEP FAITH on URSELF and only URSELF....no need to get panicked, upon other's preparation, keep ur head down and have a very very very GOOD SLEEP...it will help u a lot on 4th June 2017...
