Hey shankz
Good intiative ...
Please tell us abt the cut off for Scmhrd in SNAP last year.
Do they give profile based calls at low scores also .
thanks
Ricky

Now for the answers:-

@rickyryan

The concept of cut offs in SNAP for SCMHRD is not quite relevant since scmhrd follows a system of selective merit wherein the overall profile of the student is considered along with the SNAp score.

@AMIT

Last year scmhrd did accept CAT scores with a minimum of 96.5% to qualify for a GD/PI call. This year CAT score are not being accepted.

I have also got the links of the relevant threads which I managed to dig out, posting it here, with details:-

Ahem..

Well,
The baton has been accepted... i guess here on Shanxxx can relax while we junes can take care of the queries :)

firstly,
@rickyryan and AMIT_007_001: There is no specific SNAP cutoff as such for the admissions to SCMHRD. SCMHRD follows a selective meriting procedure where due recognition will be given to various parameters that will be specified by the applicant in the admissions form in addition to the SNAP score. So there will be no specific cutoff.... but you can rest assured that the bar is pretty high!!

And yes, AMIT_007_001, SCMHRD acceped CAT scores in 2005 but it will not be accepting CAT scores henceforth. The only way to SCMHRD will be thru SNAP.

thrs been lot of talk abt selective merit and co curricular activities

im a national player in table tennis and m a C+ graded sports person.

i have gud record in sports and have fine record in literary events .

but will tht help me get a call ?? do i have to fill all this information in the application form ? or it will only matter in GD / PI ?

plz reply..

thks

Hey,

I am studying in Amity Business School, AMITY UNIVERSITY.

So, I want to know if I am eligible for Symbiosis or not.

Pl reply.

@sprinter_ndri : Those are great extra curriculars ... Please mention all of that in the admissions application form in the appropriate sections. It will give you a good chance when the initial shortlist will be out...
You may have to justify the achievements during the PI... :)

@ritikagrawal : the minimum requirement is that you are should be a graduate. So if you are already a graduate or are in the final year of your graduation... you can apply to SCMHRD.

@shanks , this year too u have donned the mantle idnt it time to pass on the baton to the first year guys :)

Can you tell us how much emphasis do they give to work-ex, academics, etc?

Thanx yaar...

I think work-ex is playing crucial role in selection for GDPI as I did not get GDPI call from SCMHRD last year with my score of 94 ??: .

Well,
the batch of 2006-08 in SCMHRD has approximately 40% students without work-experience. So it is not absolutely mandatory to have work-ex to make it to SCMHRD.
Among engineers however, the percentage of those without work experience is slightly lower.

Elwin!!!

hehe shankx..ur always the face of scmhrd @ pg.com 😁 And those aspiring to get into scmhrd..hang on to every word Elwin says.. Of course..there is this this guy with over 1152 posts on pg.com now in scmhrd who too knows a bit about scmhrd..considering the fact that he has seen the scm gd process 2 times!

hey guys..i came to knw tht ppl wid work experience get prefrence in SCMHRD..is it true??? wat is d chance of a person like me who is jz a b.com graduate n moreover dropping dis yr for prepration to get into symbi...???ofcourse besides my hard work which i'm putting in...i'm really very tnsd coz symbi is my dream destination...:(

@sapna_k: work experience is one of the parameters that is considered... but not THE ONLY parameter. So dont fret. The shortlist will be based on numerous parameters, workexperience being just one of them... 😃

Raghav...

Welcome to the group of ?????s who'll be guiding our would-be juniors on PG... Apni toh shuru ho chuki hai... teri bhi samajhle...

Elwin... better get yourself a group id that says SCMHRD... just like mine says SIBM or Shankar/Raghav's SCMHRD... adds a lot of weight to your posts.

And it'd make more sense if you put in a post explaining how you'll be selecting the calls this year. Last year, there were many doubts, that got cleared when I visited SCMHRD for my process... but for the many who don't get a call, it did leave a bitter taste... A bit more transparency will help. Just a suggestion.
