Self Preparation without any coaching classes

same confusion here, regarding prep. material which to follow.
Sticking to one particular material will suffice the cause?
last time ruined my score in that confusion, suggestions are welcome.
Now going to join the job also, so what will be the best course of action?

Can u tell how is CL's TEST GYM for sectional mocks?
Are there any other good test series for sectionals & is it a gud strategy to keep doing sectionals till July & then only go for full mocks from Aug onwards?

Thanks!
Hey all,

I am in the same boat as you all..and rightly pointed by anadya..self discipline is what that matters in self preparation.

let us all discuss our preparation plans first to streamline our progress in the right direction. However, too much planning also spoils the actual action plan so this should be an evolving process for everyone.

About me :
I have started with working on testfunda online material and some online resources as of now.

Quant :
I am not sure whether to follow Arun Sharma or not as my basics are almost in place. Its just practice that I am looking for..other puys what do you suggest? Where should I be practicing from?

VA , LR + DI :
TF and online resources.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

what online resources is everyone referring...???

Ya they are nice...
10 proc and 20 unproc...:)

Hi,
In my opinion, if you're someone who doesn't join coaching classes, you can still crack CAT , expecially in its online avtar. I have given CAT twice scoring 99+ both times and converting the second time. I used to study from Arun Sharma's books for quant and verbal and just practised DI from old mocks or new mocks since that does not require any theoretical knowledge and I had joined only the TIME test series. I used to study for around 1-2 hours on weekdays after coming back from office and around 4-5 hours on weekends. More than the theoretical studying, I believe, a rigorous analysis of all the mocks that you take, is highly important since that helps you gauge your strengths and weaknesses. One more thing, going through old CAT papers is always helpful even though the format has changed since the questions help sharpen your basics and put you in CAT mode so that you're prepared for all kinds of questions. Cheers!

P.S. Try not to confuse yourself with infinite resources. You can first be thorough with one resource then move on to the next.

Ok!
However i want to enroll in July & the test series is available from now on. Does that mean that I'll miss all the tests conducted till then or does it depend on when a person enrolls?

you can take them later un-invigilated.
A hell lot of questions in LOD 1 are unanswered in arun sharma...

I am referring to time as well..

i am very weak in Quants...thats why i started with arun sharma and IMS material as it will improve my basics....if time allowed me then i will also prefer TIME material...

Hey, there are sectional mocks in AIMCAT pckg too. So by subscribing for AIMCAT, is there still a need for Test Gym of CL?
Also, when are AIMCAT sectionals held?

replied on other thread. pls stop worrying so much. finish one thing and then start with another test series if you need ,it is as simple as that.instead of asking so many questions on both the threads you should have started giving sectionals by now.

if you find that you still have weakness in a few topics you can share someone else's id and practice those tests.

chill maadu man...don't get hyper nervous.

I will joining CL for tests and have a friend who will give me material. And have arun sharma. I guess this should fit my preparation.
