look B and E clearly can't be the ans because there's nothing like paradox or contradiction used. now see the para in the 1st line the author has made a general statement regardingconflict co operation fom social roles and later in the para by an example of a women he has made the diffrence between conflict co operation. so i think it shud be D only..

The rule is that MEDIA and CRITERIA are plural nouns.

Well, if you want a puristic answer media and criteria both are plural. Their corresponding singular noun being media and criterion.

And if you want the linguistic answer, media is considered plural whose singular equivalent is medium.

But this is still uncommon and you would find the puristic form more often in your daily reading.
