Sentence Correction for CAT 2012

@mba4mheart said: @Gaul What is the overall answer buddy........A h kya?
@adityarajverma said: @Gaul i think answer is b (B) Because of plunging prices for computer chips, which is due to an oversupply, please correct me if i am wrong.
@snaval1 said: @Gaul I'll go with A as its compact and the idea is explained precisely in one line.
Hi, Thanks for the Response. The OA is option A. Because, This sentence describes a causal sequence of events: The oversupply of chips caused prices to plunge, which in turn caused the manufacturer to announce factory closings to cut production. The clearest, most efficient way to express this sequence is to present the events in chronological
order, as they occurred.

SET-100

OA:
A:2
B:4

Can someone tell what the second question really means?..

The never-shaken simplicity of the account makes it a miracle of intrigue and plotting and that is why the book brought the writer the universal recognition which he rightly deserves.

I chose the above ans as delicacy is not suited here.

delicacy :something especially rare or expensive that is good to eat:

Also, intrigue and plotting are very close in meaning

A humble request. Never post the OAs with the questions. It defeats the whole purpose of learning. First let puys attempt the SET and then post the solutions.

Thanks

delicacy also has the meaning of beauty..

1. Out of all the options, E suits the best. "to face" ke bina bhi kaam chal jaega.

2. In B, "their" is ambiguous. It is not clear whether it si pointing to tourists or rhino. Infact, Tourists are what is talked about in the sentence and so their seems to refer to them.

3. But then, "yet" SHOULD be used to keep the meaning of the sentence so we can ignore the other part. Also, "A peculiar feature" is being talked about, so to beat and to adopt wont be apt.

4. D is wordy. C is concise. B has error with the Tense Usage in "unless".

@[119759:amresh_maverick] I realize my mistake.Actually my doubts were too specific and people don't always give reasons for the answers so I decided to press the pertinent part of the qs.Neway it will be good if other puys share their viewpoints about the official answers of my set.Lastly.keep up the good work puys.Great thread to address queries.

I am really weak in this section and my overall VA performance in mocks is marred by this section. Please suggest some good material to have a grip on this section.
