Hey guys , my question is very simple , i solved till the last step but since i lack the basics , i am confused about the final solution .

log (x^2-5x+5) > 0 to the base 2 > 0 . solve this .
I solved it til the last step which is (x-4)(x-1)>0 .
I solved it by taking it individually as (x-4)>0 and (x-1)>0 , what happens is i get the solution as x>4 and x>1 separately , which means x > 4 .

The solution given is that x will lie outside 1 and 4 meaning x>4 or x

Indian Airlines has a certain free luggage allowance for each passenger. It charges for excess luggage at a fixed rate per kg. Two passengers, Mohan and Sohan, have a total of 50 kg of luggage between them. They were charged र2800 and र1400 respectively for excess luggage. If the free luggage allowance were halved and the entire luggage belonged to one of them, the excess luggage charge would have been र6300. Find the weight (in kg) of Mohan's luggage.
