@mitchell same was the case wid me wt ever i said was i think against there way of thinkin bt beech beech mein kaafi sahi points maar rahe they panelist then i wud also pitch in fr sm 2 3 minutes lagta that i have arrived and then again they start by takin ma case n this went way beyond 25-30 min sahi mein the clg that was ma drm wahan pe sabh chaupat ho gaya any how lets see wt happens........any body know till wr the list was extended last yr

I reached the centre well within time. The process started sharp at 1 with the attendance. We were then made to sit in the waiting room where we were welcomed by Metallica's Nothing Else Matters!! Truly, if it is SIBM B, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!!! The seniors showed us some videos of SIBM -B. i particularly liked the introductory video of SIBM. As it is i was nervous and couldn't do anything about it. But the seniors maintained an amazingly amicable atmosphere and treating us like being a part of SIBM already!! Trust me, it truly helped to calm down the anxiety.
The document verification took place simultaneously along with the groups being called for the GD. Our panel had 3 men; one elderly, one was an alumnus and one more. Everyone of us in the group had to say a word which were jotted down. I said water and the panel asked "do yu want some??" 😁 Our discussion had to be such structured that it had to include some or more or all of those 12 words with our individual perception. VERY INNOVATIVE INDEED!!!
then we were randomly asked to summarize and asked to write an SOP: Why MBA, 2 role models and their qualities that you admire, Why SIBM B??? (My handwriting was ruined because there was no proper support 😞 I just hope that doesn't make a difference :/)
We went back to the waiting room and served tea and choco biscuits 😁 (hadn't had lunch...was really hungry by then!! :O) Some amazing songs were being played like Hotel California, Stairway to Heaven, Gladiator En ya, some Enigma...A very good idea indeed!!
Finally my turn for the interview. My Group Coordinator kept talking to me to calm me down :/ ... Same panel. First the extempore (i go blank with the thought of an extempore!!) My topic was better be silent than talk (sth like that). At first i fumbled :/ but then took a few seconds to assimilate my thoughts and started speaking about one of our former PMs. The elderly panelist then talked about Ab Vajpayee and then as follows:
P2: and what do yu think of Dr. Manmohan Singh?
Me: Said
P2: Okay. so where do you live? Pune?
Me: (i was in pune for some time. then explained them about my transfer)
P2: Tell us about your family
Me. Said
P1: YU were telling about yur company. please go on.
Me: explained
P2: and what is yur job profile like??
Me: explained.
P1: Specialization?? Marketing ? (i am currently in Marketing)
Me: For now yes. but i'm receptive to others as well.
P1: so basically yu are confused!!
Me: Explained that right now i'm thinking of Mktg but i have a whole year to understand the subjects once i join in and ultimately pick what i want.

P2: Don't yu think an Ex PG course would be better for yu. there are a whole lotta eminent B-Schools offering it

P2: Well, i think yu've studied enough (i'm an engineer, so...) and yu have enough work ex (close to 2 yrs..), don't yu think yu should now get married and settle down??!

(this could have been the most devastating but i explained why i want to do an MBA and why i chose this particular college)

can we expect the same kind of judges and treatment as mentioned in the pune n noida gepi experiences at bang or is it more like ..since diff panel may b present at bang ..things may b diff????is gd always a general topic or closely related to current affairs?

I totally agree with Sonakshi. the entire process was very well executed and very well coordinated , esp. that it was started sharp on time!!

The treatment and its consistency will always remain similar here at SIBM,B. There was no major difference between Pune and Noida GE/PI even though different panels were present. so, that shouldnt be an issue!
More often than not, they give a general topic for GD just to check your clarity of thought.
more often than not, candidates get confused and they get sloppy in a general topic

i think Sarees are allowed.
it shouldnt be too much of an issue!
