Okay, i'm not from SIBM, just an aspirant (who screwed up this time btw!).. If the SIBM Aspirants team person doesn't mind, i can give you guys some general pointers - i went till the interview last year and couldn't convert..
-> The audio/visual thingy was actually an advertisement analysis for us last year.. Each slot had a different (and good) advertisement that was screened on a projector and the candidates've gotto pen down what they thought of it.. like a 10 minute exercise.. not more than 150-200 words if i remember.. actually this is the first thing that you'll face in round 2..
-> The Aspirants relations team were very professional and helpful overall.. You just gotto ask them and they'll assist you in any way they can.. The whole process was managed only by the aspirants team (who were students themselves).. they were all in formal business suits, with walkie talkies and stuff to communicate to each other, but like i said, very good in nature.. Even as you wait outside the room for your interview sitting all by yourself on a bench, one of them comes and sits next to you and eases your pressure and calms your nerves and all.. you could even ask them about placements, extra curriculars, hostel life, interview, sex ratio, whatever.. :D
-> You only have to get to their office in the heart of the city (will be easy to find - ask any auto driver or someone), and from then on, the aspirant team will take care of you.. SIBM arranges buses.. in which even the person accompanying you can come along (parent or friend).. similarly they have regular buses back to the city once everythin is done.. (the college itself is in the hills nearby! and no govt buses go there i guess)
I'm not sure about them giving accomodations though.. you'll have to find hotels i think..
-> once there, you'll be part of a group of about 10-15 and the group activities will all happen within that grp only.. like one minute you'll be chatting about your college or work, and the next, you're pitted against each other in the GD/case study..
-> there was a 5 minute weird extempore before your interview begins.. with the same panel.. and there's nothing you can do about it or prepare for.. it'll be totally random and will test your quick thinking ability..
-> even if you feel you've done well in almost all the activities and interview, you still aren't guaranteed of an admission offer.. that happened to me 😐 since SIBM-P have their deadlines for paying the fees well before even some of the GD/PIs of IIMs, its a good likelyhood that ppl mightn't join.. So there's always a second list.. And a third list (as ppl wait for other results) But i missed all three times and got a useless message like "Don't get disheartened.. when one door closes, another opens.." and stuff! :P
All the very best to everyone 😃

Thanx for providing the detailed account of last years admissions process to the aspirants.
Just one lil thing,The advertisement analysis that happened last year may not be repeated.SIBM's admissions process has always been quite innovative and certain changes in the process are always on the card.
As i said earlier , the details of the process cant be given out.
Without being arrogant, doesn't it make more sense to include the percentile score rather than absolute scores.
Just hypothesizing, the topper got 137.5 marks and there are very less students(5-10) in the bracket range of 135-120. After 110, we have a large cluster of students. So, it doesn't make much difference to a puy who got 115 as compared to the one who got 100.

It makes sense to consider the percentile as a index of measurement of relative performance. For evaluating performance, absolute scores are a much better parameter for the same reason as you cited.
So, in the end percentile is only an indicative index for students to judge their performance vis a vis others, without any bearing on further evaluation.

bro going by last years cutoff and the corresponding relative difference in this years cut-off, what could be the possible cut-off in case of SC category for SCMHRD? Just an estimate/ rough idea?

SNAP score= 46.25 :-(

I would not suggest you to go for books like Freakonomics or Atlas Shrugged. They might sound or look impressive but for a new reader like you, it'd take time to absorb and answer questions from them in the interview.
I would suggest you to read 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell. It's a 50-60 pages book, easy to understand and easily available. You can finish it in one day and can read it's reviews and summary for better understanding of the underlying reason for the book to be written or the period it was written in. Hope that helps!
One more question , is it available online ?
are there hostels for married couples..??
kindly reply symbians..

Hi,
No there are not hostels for married couples.
Congratulations to myself and for getting the first and in all likelihood the only call. SIBM - Pune.
Snap Score 111
GE/PI Slot 7th Feb 12.30pm (5th Feb is my b'day 😃 )
To add to the discussions going here
SIBM has been surprising the students each year as far as the particulars of the process is concerned so please dont form a prejudice on past experiences as you may become uncomfortable when the actual thing turns out to be different
The Annexure is definitely one of the toughest among many PI forms of various institutes. Again extremely different from last years.
As far as changing slots is concerned, guys let us not forget that carrying out this entire 5 day process is a huge task in itself. Time and again SIBM has been praised for its student friendly and low waiting period GE/PI. Changing slots would create a lot of mess adding to the already huge responsibility.
I hope all the anti-SNAP people are happy as the cut offs reflect the fairness of dealing. Day end there will be people who will be sour (like i am for CAT) and also people who have recieved calls from SIBM and are very happy about it (again like I am
) so lets just drop the matter there.
Who knows who will make it and who wont 180/1200 is still a small ratio. But whatever the outcome maybe, as of today we are excited and energetic about our chances. So lets make the most of it and take the best out of it!
All the best to everyone!
Can we stay in the campus at night before our GEPI process or we have to arrange our accomodation ourselves???
