what the shame is this.till now SIIB has not came up his placement stats(2005) on his website........it is so crucial time for students and they did'nt know the importance of placement stats for a student joining a b-school.........

there can be 2 reasons for not posting the placement stats:

1) There isnt anything worth mentioning:huh:
2) The placements were so good that those guys are still partying

Lets hope its the 2nd reason:)

wat nonsense...
dn't spread this lies regarding placements..it seems that u peolpe might be setling some personal scores against SIIb..

dear friends...even IIMs,SCMHRD haven't updated their site regarding placements of 2005....n i personally think wat ever information is furnished on SIIB website its more than enough..

Most of us will agree wit above arguement..

hi eshika

i dont think so that a person who is in touch with a good newspaper does'nt know about IIM's placements.from the past 7-8 days there is almost daily one article about their placements.

and some of other institutes(IMI,NIRMA...) have already updated their sites.........

further i don't think so that a student joining a b-school like IIM's,XLRI,SP-JAIN,MDI........has to think about the placements

hi eshika,

rekindle your sense of humor. i wasn't speculating or spreading any lies. all i meant was that we have placement stats of almost all good b-schools sans SIIB (why?)
regarding "settling personal scores", ma'am, i have joined SIIB too and wouldn't like to defame my college in any respect.
IIMs and other b-schools of it's league need not update placement stats immediately as there are people (read: media) waiting to blow the trumpet on their behalf.
the information posted on SIIB's site is for last year's placements. And frankly speaking I am not much interested in stale news. How can I gauge whether SIIB seized the oppurtunity of the blooming economy this year?
Having said that, I would like to mention that I have nothing personal against the college. I am planning to spend 2 yrs of my life here and would inquire not once but twice and thrice before I take this important decision.

Regards,
Niraj

I received the following email from SIIB (on 18th march):

Dear Student,
This is to inform you that your first installment of fees (Rs 110000 /-) towards the admission in open Category of MPIB 2005-2007 has been received at SIIB on 17/3/05_by way of DD No 985616
Congratulations! Please treat your admission as confirmed.
Also note that your presence on the first day of the course (i.e. 20th June 2005) is mandatory. (students who will not be in position to attend the opening address due to their exams will have to seek prior permission in writing and also have to submit time table of exam duly signed / attested by Principal / Registrar of the college.)
Avinash Shitole
Asst.Registrar
I had sent my dd (from kolkata) on 14th march.

Hi all ,

I don't think there is any point in making wild assumptions about placement in SIIB....

One thing I got confirmed that palcement is 100 % for open category people......for summer placement few students try for themselves ( if they wish to get training in any specific company )otherwise college organises it too....

for any other query I think now we may contact the faculty directly....... I agree with you Neeraj ....before investing such a huge sum and time.... we have the right to know the truth ......

By the way, eshika.......thanks for your special greeting.....APM is only one......i.e. Ajay Prakash Mishra.......

bye bye

guys give a break...why can't we think positive abt our institute, see we are the ones who hav to build the image of SIIB..n we would in turn be the most beneficiaries out of it...

there r many top ivy legaue B-schools who still haven't updated their websites regarding placements like IIMA,SCMHRD...n if we can't completely rely on Business magazines survey of top b-schools,similarly we can't blindly accept any newspaper articales regarding PROJECTED placements..Friends i hav even heard of dummy interviews been given in IIMs placement..see there is nothing offensive against them, but see there remains some gray patches in every organisation..n we have to accept it.

talking abt SIIB,there were 8 foreign placements this year..with avg aroung 3.9 lacs...n more over SIIB is the only institute which has mentioned its highest n median salary n summer stipends very very clearly in its propectus..

You are absolutely right. We are the brand ambassadors for our institutes. And we have to ensure that we potray good image of our college. But eshika, regarding updating the websites, well, there are no hassles if any college doesn't update its website immediately but haven't you noticed that most of the students of top management institutes in India have come out in open and commented on placements. We have thread for almost all the top b-school's placement report in PG, and its not given by biz mags or news channels. Its first hand report from the students. All we are asking for is, somebody (
faculty, students...) pls come out with a summary on placemnts (if not detailed report).

I am really glad to know that SIIB had 8 foreign placements this year. See, small info like these can bring smiles on our faces. Its good that SIIB mentioned highest and median salary (last year's) in its brochure, but I am sure it won't take much time or resources to do so for this year too (on their website).

Having said that, I know SIIB is a good college and is coming up really well (arre yaar, mein koi pagal thodi hoon jo bina soche-samjhe yahan admission le liya ). I also received an email from the college which gives some info about the joining date, dress code, accomodation etc etc. These lil gestures give a good image of the college. But I still believe that being a student(well, almost!) of SIIB we have a right to be INFORMED.
