MISCONCEPTION OF JOB PROFILES:
I am getting a sense from this forum that many people are looking at SSC jobs a way to make some money under the table. Let me bring to notice some insights from friends who have served various jobs in the recent years and some old relatives who have retired after serving for 40 years.
Well, in the last 3-4 years the activities of CVC (Central Vigilance Commission) have intensified and there have been arrests at very high levels - Commissioner. It is extremely risky to work for the earlier meaty jobs. It is quite common to hear that people working in Examiner/customs/ITI etc. get arrested for anonymous complaints made within the department. It can be really painful if you are a clean person but don't stop corrupt practices under you completely because of fears of transfers or alienation from others.
Although the present gov. is hell bent to wipe out inspector raj and more and more jobs are becoming desk rather than field (even Excise inspectors don't have to be in the field all the time unlike earlier times) this is definitedly curbing the earlier lucrative job profiles. With things going online and documentation happening in digital platforms even filing of tax and other receipts in online which is leaving lesser scope for malpractices.
Thus it becomes important for every candidate to judiciously talk to as many people who are working in SSC and have 1-10 years of experience or are mid job level (15-25 yrs) and retired folks (25-40 years) to have a comprehensive knowledge about the profiles.

Does any one has any about the allahabad interview panel.....last year I faced delhi interview panel and scored 64 in interview.....I am not sure about whether the allahabad interview panel is stricter in their marking.. If anyone has any experience please share......
