Hai Guys,
After a long mind struggle to join a PGDBA or stay at my present work , I got an offer from SIOM after taking up the interview on 9th of this month. Now can anyone say me about this inst. When I asked the panel about the course content and others they said , " SIOM is a sis concern of SCMHRD which was providing Operations Mangement as a part of its specialisation. Here after SCMHRD will NOT offer MOM in its institute instead the student can opt for SIOM. SIOM starting its journey from this year , will have the Nashik Campus as its base from where the SCMHRD will wind up all their activities by the end of this year."
Moreover I heard that SCMHRD doesn't have any teiup with SAP:huh: (as it say so from its website) and doesn't even have the software in its campus . They will entitle the student to get trained from a local institute on MM or PP module.
please guys guide me whether to join this inst or not. I'm a software engr with 2 yrs of exp in SAP domain. Will this PGDOM(they call so) be an advantage for my career ?
cheers

Hi Dude!!
Me got into SCMHRD thisyear ..please clarify on these items which I have quoted above man!!
SCMHRD will not offer MOM? What do u meant by that..meaning guys in SCMHRD who got thru this year have to change to SIOM if they want to do MOM? Whats all this man!! Sounds Strange!!!And what do u mean by Sis Concern..As far as I know..its has nothing to do with SCMHRD. Its is just another institute in the Symbiosis Family!!!
Do clarify..!!!
Cheers!!

Yeah I too got struck when I heard it from the Panel member. They are very concerned about the money a lot yaar. In fact when I raised a question about having SAP in Symbi they jiggled and said how come Symbiosis could spent such a huge amount for SAP.(Cost of the Software is around 8 Cr.) .
cheers

I think the SAP thing that u heard is crap.....I was actually chatting to an SCMHRD guy when he was in the middle of his 10 day SAP course and he was cribbing about the 14 hr schedule
As far as MOM is concerned.....its true that Nashik campus has been dissociated but the Pune guys do have the option of MOM and that`s confirmed news.
All matters lay to rest

till now i am convinced about SIOM from feedback i got,
but plz do reply.
yeah me too spoke to alumni of SCMHRD who did his Operations Management with Symbi and got placed in Ramco in chennai. So far nothing fishy about the instittue and he gives me a good sign to join the instittue.
The problem for me is the fee which I hope couldn't pay by 20th of this month. I spoke to the JD and she strictly said she can't give any kind of time extension for payment. My bank also will not be able to make it by 20 th it seems. How abot you guys ?
cheers

As a former student of SCMHRD, let me correct you....SIOM is as much of a sister institute of SCMHRD, as is the Symbiosis Junior High School. We have nothing to do with SIOM apart from the fact that the Nashik Campus is being handed over to them.
As far as the operations course at SCMHRD is concerned, it is simply being renamed to Supply Chain Management. What else do you expect? They can't just dump the people who are currently studying there, or have secured admission there.
And you might wanna be more careful about what you say....How do you know that the software isn't there on campus? Did Dr. Majumdar or Subbu call you up to tell you that? Or have you visited the campus and turned on the computers to check?
Fact: We have a SAP liscence for which money was raised partly by raising the fee, and partly out of the coffers of the Symbiosis Society. I can tell you that it did not cost us 8 Cr either.
Fact: We have a SAP lab, seperate from our computer lab on campus
Fact: Every student underwent SAP training in that lab last year.
As far as the comparison between SCMHRD and SIOM is concerned (in Operations), if you have a call from both its a no brainer...no question about it, SCMHRD is an established institute with excellent placements this year. 33% jump in CTC this year itself, which is double that of the average across B Schools.
SIOM does have a good future ahead but it will take time for them to establish themselves. Being situated in the Nashik manufacturing belt is definitely an advantage they can leverage in the years to come.
Be careful about what you say.........
Cheers!

First and Foremost I'm no way against SCMHRD or Symbi Society .
Fact: We have a SAP liscence for which money was raised partly by raising the fee, and partly out of the coffers of the Symbiosis Society. I can tell you that it did not cost us 8 Cr either.
If it doesn't cost you 8 Cr then it may be a Training Software supplied to you. Are the userid shared by the students or you all have individual Userid. I'm damn sure you will be having common userids only. You have a big difference between the Training Software and the original. You will never know the Important aspects of Trasporting and other stuffs which will only be in the Complete Software Package that defintely cost you 8 Cr.
Fact: We have a SAP lab, seperate from our computer lab on campus
Nethier I denied ! My clarification is only on how far they will be providing us the training
How do you know that the software isn't there on campus? Did Dr. Majumdar or Subbu call you up to tell you that? Or have you visited the campus and turned on the computers to check?Mr. Majumdar doesn't need to say these buddy. Jus use your common sense . As I'm in the same field I know the in & out of the software. That's why I'm questioning .
hello people.
can anyone please tell me what would be the cut-off in SNAP for SIOM this year?
