There s hell lot of differences b/w the ctc and the original take home packages...one needs to check on that...
As has been mentioned corrcetly...there are people who have been flounting of their contacts to gain back door entry into imt....nyways these are all we hear from the market...we shudnt be discussing so much on this at this stage....Lets all look forward for a good time at TAPMI.

agreed that tapmi is a cool institute, but imt is not that bad also..
every insti has pros and cons.. i agree that imt might have backdoor entries, but there are somthins that tapmi lacks 2..

so it is up 2 us, that when v go there, v correct all these misdoings and better these insti..

hope u agree and dont get involved in a pointless argument...

Gawd this is the definition of a stupid fight..this is simply a matter of individual choice..Between IMT MIB and Tapmi..if you have paid up money in Tapmi go there..no question of losing out on Tapmi for a specialised course..

But let us not get into arguments on which institutes are better...i for one flew to Ghaziabad for my IMT interview didnt go to Tapmi as the bus ride seemed too long..My brother feels its a case of Ghar ki Murgi Daal barabar..but either ways when i went for the GD in 2003 between my Bcom Exams , the one big turn off for me with Tapmi was the College and Hostel..You are going to an industrial Backwater and also Slumming it for 2 years on that inadequetc campus..it seemed too much of a sacrifice.I hope the new campus Rocks

Comint to IMT i found that things moved more slowly the Admin was laid back..however they were friendy and helpfull as compared to a more hassled Tapmi Admin.The infra is definitely better at IMT.Tapmi however scores in faculty as its almost on par with the MDIs /I &K;,Discipline however is a serious issue at TAPMI..

When you compare the 7 second run institutes..SCMHRD.SIBM,IMT,XIMB,NMIMS,TAPMI and IMT you need to assigh your own marks to each criteria..for eg Tapmi might be no 1 on faculty(XIMB is at the same level) however it is defintely the last in placement and that is likely to remain for sometime as clearly no industrial interface worth mentioning can take place in Manipal..

Hi mates

It is sad to see that instead of planning how we are we going to make the best use of the next two years, we are wasting our time in this unseemly quarrel of comparing and vilifying institutes. Most of the institutes in the top 20-25 are good in their own way. Each institute has got its unique strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately they balance out. Placement figures may vary from institute to institute and here again, there is no uniformity as to what constitutes CTC. By speaking in favour of and against any institution we belittle and vilify both. By taking strong positions in favour of or against we are unnecessarily creating doubts in the minds of people who are not fully aware. Let us better stop once and for all this dogfight and concentrate rather on the future ahead, wherever we are. Friends, we are all fortunate that we are one among the top 2500 - 3000 management students in the country and are going to be future managers of large and complex organisations. Let us please bhave in such a way, befitting the role we are expected to play after we graduate.

Wishing every one of us a great time in their career. well man, if u read my earlier posts u'll realise tht i'm a pretty cool person. I'm not the sort of personto make comparisons among institutes n indulge in vilification of institutes. it was mr.whydoesthishappen2me? who got me into this mud-slinging by constantly hitting out at Tapmi. Also i see tht after responding the way i did, he's no more here. so i come to the conclusion tht unless u kick others' ass, others keep on kicking urs. IMT is a good place to be at, but tht does not give anybody the right to say ill-words abt my institute.

anyway, i hv cleared IMT waitlist but i don't think i'll be taking it up due to the following reasons:
1). i hv already paid 1st installment @Tapmi, n cannot forego 93k's, specially considering the fact tht my parents don't hv any black-money. also i intend to take a loan to fund my mba.
2). i plan to take up finance n i'm not too sure ant finance placements at Imt.

again as i keep on saying, let peace prevail.

but now u accepting that d diff is around 50-60K( just...)

as far as i know d average sal diff between iima and mdi is also around d same mark..

lemme clarify, not that i hav to... Rs. 100000 suk as far as my career is concerned... it is a well thot over decision
about iima and mdi... apart frm the salary diffce being talked of... which is better in iima... iima is better in quite a lot of aspects too...
as far as comparing this to imt and tapmi... imt is better only with salaries... in most (almost al) other aspects, tapmi is good

and i answer it publically

these r solely my reasons... and i dont xpect nebody to comply with them if they dont want...

my answer is:
1. the culture... two things about this...
a> the discipline, military-type culture... i think i need to learn this if i want to be successful in my future
b> the stress to acedemics... we all kno tapmi can help us develop actual content (matter needed in a manager)

2. great (one of the best) faculty base

3. the curriculum that has been designed has especially appealed to me... its not the regular "just" subjects per (or credits per) semester or trimester... the theme based program rises from the most basic type of courses (from quant to comp) to the final "ultimate manager" theme...

4. more-than-decent placements

5. i think i can learn a lot from an institute thts honest... about its placements and salaries and other things... when all others (even the large ones) dont...

6. i hav "heard" tht thr r enuff xtra-currics on campus... and i am particularly interested in them

7. the batch profile... tht is one mor thing to be considered bcoz this batch is the one i will develop myself with

8. no backdoor entries, no mismanagement (in results and dates etc.)... after all we r here to learn management

9. Manipal... the place is beautiful and ideal to study if u ask me

and lots more...

had a call from tapmi.. paid the fees
today got the letter from imt hrcg gaz
money is not the problem as such as it is matter of my carrer..
but i want a logical answer as i dont kow much abu imt and nothing abu its hrcg course\
some one told me that it isnot a regular cource of imt and this iyear the first batch ll be placed.
so please any seniors from tapmi, imt guide me to take right decision for my life...
