Anybody planning for gettting acer -- plz try to find out the nearest service centre. I agree that post sales service is a main problem with acer.
The best lot among laptop is dell -- but its costly. it also has servicing problems but the probability that it will go bad are very less. very reliable laptop it is.
These are my personal opinions. others might have differnt things to say based on their experience.
i agree that ACER isnt a reputed firm, and has issues with servicing, but then i look at it this ways, ACER now gives me all the desired features, 256MB RAM, 40GB HDD & above all Mobile Technology, as of AMD processors, even Compaq uses them, i assume that laptops aint gonna last more than 3-4yrs & thats exactly the period u need to be capable of buying a DELL or IBM, i suppose 30k isnt a bad deal & den v wud hv company of good Comp Enggrs to fixx the laptop, am seriously wishing to grab the offer, 'cos frankly speaking its kinda bad feeling draining ur dad's pocket being an enggr urself......
Thanx genuinely for ur ideas guys, do tell me more abt ACER laptops, i mean if u get 2 knw some other info.

was on this thread just to post the link to new IMT website but was shoockd to go thru the thread. IMT being compared to TAPMI and actually scoring over it.see ppl me not the one to do mudslinging at any institute but common guys you dont compare IMT with TAPMI just like u dont compare IMT to MDI.
i got thru UBS, KJ, NIRMA, TAPMI, FORE, IMI, MDI-HR, IMT... and had to spend time thinkin of which to pick between IMI and IMT.
guys where do u think the guest faculty comes from at TAPMI ??seen the "campus" of tapmi? it finishes b4 it starts.....been thru the placement figures of these institutes... IMT rulzzzzz

Peace at last! Hope the peace lasts. Now it is time for us to prepare for the hard grind ahead for the next 2 years. Whichever B skool we are in. We learnt the first lesson .. arguments never lead to a solution. It throws more heat than light. Let us work together wherever we are. I have been a frequent visitor of this thread.
No i am not comming to tapmi.In fact i have not even applied to TAPMI(for personal reasons )
The reason why i visit this thread so often coz it looks more like WWE(or WWF ) thread than a B-School thread.
Firstly there was a big bash between Guys supporting IMT and those of TAPMIans.Now after some silent again this bashing has started.
See i am not trying to be a spritual Guru or something and my Avtar will bear testimony to that fact .But my point is that u should really stop bashing other institute and discuss about Your next 2 years at TAPMI.
There are some qualities of TAPMI(for eg Good Chiks and romantic environment ) which even IIM Lacks whereas there will be some thing for sure lacking in TAPMI.Then again no one is perfect,even i have some grey hairs .
But my point is that it is absolute insane to compare two(or more) institute coz these all depends on ur perception.For eg i am leaving XLRI for IITB(SJMSOM) and i am sure i could get infinite number of views(and counter view) supporting my decision and many other thinking that i am insane(Which i am not despite of what my avtar makes me look )
But what really matters is that i think SJMSOM suits me better than XL.I don't go on bashing XL(or any other institute) even though me personally rate SJMSOM above all.
See all you are tomorrow's manager passing out of a great B-school and should surely behave like one.I am sorry if i am sounding too harsh but i have this personal thing with TAPMI(always have a soft spot for it).It will not mater for sure weither u r TAPMIan or IMTian from any other institute from same league once u get out in the real World.
So, My advice is to just ignore all those Institute Bashing and use this thread productively.
And Above all Keep Rocking
