Hopefully they should comeout with the other results much earlier than the waitlist for pgdm..bcoz they are not correlated and it opens up options for people..people who get selected into IB or BSF can decide if they wanna go for it or check their waitlist number and then make a decision..

I believe if you are selected in BFS/ IB n later your PGP converts they would allow you to change the course provided u have mentioned PGP on a higher priority than BFS/ IB.

On 1st of may, after the results were finally out on their website, I called up jyothi to get my waitlist number..The lady said that they can't disclose it before 10th May.. The last date for the selected candidates to submit the fees is 10th.. They have already dispatched the letters.. they are giving 15 days time for fee submission.. So only after 10th, they'll compile and check.. and hence tell us the status on 11th or 12th. She asked me to call her up on 11th or 12th.
They have asked the selected candidates to submit 1 Lac initially.. after that they have probably given 10 more days for the rest of the amount..

So don't expect they in anycase will disclose waitlist number..
Only seniors can help by checking why is there so much discrepency in the ratio of selected and waitlisted candidates.. How many have been selected and waitlisted..??

How can the last date for submission of fees be 10th?? today is the 3rd and we haven't yet received any intimation from the college.. no email / snail mail yet.. even if they have despatched letters to the selected candidates, it'll take time for it to reach us..after that how can we submit the fees within 10th??

Has any selected candidate received any mail from TAPMI????

It says Welingkar is better than GIM.
And FORE is 15 ranks better than TAPMI.
I would rather not look much into these rankings while making such an important decision.

These rankings have been the same since 2008. It is not updated since then.

So always better to do ur own research and rank colleges based on what ur priorities are rather than sticking to these rankings.

No, even I haven't received any letter as yet... Dont worry yaar..

They will give us 10-15 days from the receipt of the letter. I believe the dates will be mentioned in the offer letter.. So lets not worry abt things which are not in our hands.. :)

The question is a very pertinent one. This needs to be addressed first and fast.

Have JUST received a letter from TAPMI....

It says that we need to pay the first instalment of Rs. 1,00,000 in the form of a DD by 10th May..
The 2nd instalment of Rs. 2,10,000 will have to be paid by 20th May.

In case u fail to pay any of the above mentioned instalments, ur letter of admissions will automatically be withdrawn.

In case u pay the 1st instalment but want to withdraw after that, they would refund u Rs. 80,000.
If u want to withdraw after 2nd payment, within 25th June, u would be refunded Rs. 2,70,000.
If u want to withdraw after 25 June, u would be refunded only Rs. 15,000.

Commencement of programme on 1st July.

All rankings are fine (PG rankings are probably better) in one way but i have to tell you this fact -> ALL Indian rankings are PERCEPTION BASED RANKINGS and with all due request ABSOLUTELY NO PERCEPTION RANKINGS ARE CORRECT. Thats part one now think of this -> RANKINGS OF PERCEPTIVE KIND ARE ILLUSIONS ALSO BECAUSE IT IS POPULAR NUMBERS THAT MATTER NOT GREY MATTER. A SCHOOL WHICH IS BRILLIANT BUT HAS 60 KIDS LOSES TO A SCHOOL WHICH HAS 540 KIDS AND NOT SO GOOD :D

This is the reason why Indian B-Schools rank very low on International rankings scale. International Rankings are not perception based but CRITICAL. Experts Gauge Rankings and they gauge it by various means (one of them is how far does a guy who passes out do in 2 years then 3 years then 5 years etc). On most Indian types of rankings, everyone from tom->who never went to a b-school, d-i-c-k->who is a paid reviewer and harry->who is a 21-22 year old kid being brainwashed by all the tall talk by d-i-c-k-(name) vote for B-SCHOOLS

This is also why bollywood sucks and hollywood rocks -> Because award ceremonies (LIKE OSCAR AND BAFTA) are about CRITICAL ACCLAIM not how many tickets did a movie sell :grin:

In life, I believe in going for Critical Acclaim rather than for Popular fame, the former would certainly last way longer than the later :grin:

I believe they would have dispatched the letters before declaring the result on the website otherwise no way would anyone in kolkata get it today considering May 1st was a Saturday n Mayday which is closed at most parts of the city.

So I guess most people will get the letter today n 10th may be the last date for the converted candidates.

I think its a hard copy , reasons:

1. It's mentioned as letter n not as "mail".
2. The person wrote "will read it fully and update this space again" , if it would have been an email he/ she could have done a Copy + Paste.
