Wonder why no LAPTOP:shocked::shocked:....I think they should be providing one within this fee....many colleges are providing..and TAPMI did it last year...so donno why this change..

Yes, they did provide last year. And based on the feedback from our batch, they might have decided not to do so this year. See, if they were to provide a laptop, ppl who already have one or purchased one already might lose out. Also a laptop is a personal property and its better than you purchase one that suits your requirements rather than getting one from the college

Asked my mentor from the GDPI days yesterday through an email about me being waitlisted and hence the chances of converting n so forth and today morning he replied that TAPMI has given 120 confirmed calls and waitlisted another 120 and that if seats do increase to 180 as planned and assuming 25% dropouts, the entire waitlist of 120 should get confirmed. Think i'l believe him since he's a part of the insti.. 😃

hmmm this is not correct info freind because let me tell you the spread sheet itself has 140 + entries and check their web site 700 + wait lsit candidates there so your mentor is completly in focus of his internship 😁

Hi guys
I think these were last year stats.
But a waitlist of more than 700 looks absurd. 😐

Sorry to break the bad news but the number of W/L is certainly more than 120. As of now none of the students (aspirants or current students and SAG) know how many calls have been given as shortlisted and how many students have been waitlisted. I guess there would have been some mis-communication from the your SAG side. Lest wait till 10th may for more clarity from the admission office.

i jus called up da admissions office...luckily picked up da call today....

dey just said ul get to know ur waitlist number only after may 10th..

Can't believe it! The list on PG itself has crossed 120.

wrong post..sorry

I have added one more column to the spread sheet under the header 'Have you confirmed your Admission?'. Just mention yes if you have sent the DD to the college.

Selected candidates please fill in your status of confirmation.

yes, guys. got it confirmed. unfortunately, the stats pertained to last year's waitlist movement 😞 the writing style made it look like something else.

regret the mistake.

nice question it goes like this

7300 applications

7300/100 = 73 sets set means 100 entries

on an average 02 series set has least wait list of 8

09 series has highest of 14

so on an average 10 per set or on worst case 9 per set

so range 630-730 it must be if u want more clarity

Hey mates.. Isn't it getting too much??
I know we are all deadly curious to know about the waitlist.. even I'm in the same boat.. but do you people really believe that we can just speculate.. how many are waitlisted..?
It's just a matter of a few days.. Even if the waitlist is 100 or 1000.. we can't change or challenge it.. we got to wait till they declare..
Let's wait till 10-11th may.. we'll be in a position to ask them as they have promised this date..
Till then we can do something more constructive..and ask our senies more relevant questions.. like..
**course structure
**Hostel facilities:cheers:
**Food joints in Manipal
**Places to hang around
**About the faculty.. who's the easiest to handle.. and who's the toughest of them:splat
**Tips from the senies.. what to take from home.. etc etc...:wow:

This thread is getting real bore..:|

PS: Don't groan please.. just an advice..

ok.. let me take that one by one..
Course structure: If the query is about the pedagogy or the teaching methodology, then I guess its already been answered in previous posts.

Hostel facilities: Its brand new and is mostly twin sharing. Most important thing which I have felt about it is that its very well maintained. 24/7 you have room cleaning service which can be availed at no extra cost. This is specially helpful for ppl who are lazy to keep their rooms tidy . All rooms have attached bathrooms. TV is there in the common room.

There are a lot of places where you can find good food in Manipal. I guess it would be irrelevant to just post their name at this point of time. But yes, you get really good food in Manipal...

Being in the western ghats, there are a lot of places that you can see around especially if you are of that "nature/wildlife" lover kind. Agumbe, famous for the King Cobra and "cherrapunjee of the south", Kudremukh, Jog Falls, Coorg, etc etc... The question is, whether u'll have the time for it or not 😁 How can I miss out those beautiful and serene beaches in and around Manipal...

Faculty, I guess, its better for you to find it for urselves. It isnt right for you to have a prejudiced opinion of anyone before you have even met him/her.

Tips: 😁 ok.. i'll give you the same tip given by my senies before I joined TAPMI. Plan a big trip, go see places, enjoy as much as u can, before you join TAPMI. I spent mine on a 21day journey around India... so you may plan one for urselves!!

Hostel rules: A few general rules, gents are not allowed in ladies hostel and vice versa. Alchohol/Smoking STRICTLY not allowed inside the college premises (So need not tell u abt drugs!!). You need to be in the college premises by 11:30pm. In case you need to stay out of the hostel, you need to take prior permission. And trust me guys, none of these rules are "you may follow them" types ok?? Its "must follow" type!! I guess you will be mailed all those hostel rules before you join TAPMI.
