I just could not resist myself from responding to your post.
This is just your second post. I hope and pray its not a fake account specially created to defame the (competitors?) colleges. Such things do happen on PG misleading the genuine junta.
Get your stats right mate and please don't defame a college like this. Whatever you have mentioned is totally untrue. We have already declared our median salary as 7 lacs and please believe us : We say what we are. We are proud of our college and don't believe in portraying a fake rosy picture in any aspect and want the juniors to join it for what it is.
Regarding placements @ TAPMI , the report is already available at the site and at the TAPMI blog. There is not an iota of exaggeration in it and i request the people who will ultimately join to check and confirm it in this thread this post itself. Infact , TAPMI is one of the earliest colleges this year to complete and declare the placement figures after few iims and XLRI. Check and confirm this if i am wrong here.
There are colleges whose all guys are still not placed and wandering with interview calls and i can see their 100% placement report at Pagalguy itself. We at TAPMI don't believe in getting into such dirty games and try our best for straightforward,transparent dissemination of information.
There had been some noise regarding TAPMI's summer placement as well: Its 100% with absolutely ZERO sourced projects. Our MIP team have cracked each and every company for the students rather than students getting the projects through their contacts. Check with other colleges , how many were able to achieve this feat.
Regarding fee, Most colleges increase their fees every year. I dont know what is shocking in it.

TAPMI has shocked most of us by increasing their FEES. I have a friend who passed it in 2010. He said that the placements hovered around 4.5 to 5.5 and few guys got 6 and 7 lakhs. WIth its increase in seats the placement scenario will plumment. I suppose ROI wont be great. The total cost of education will be around 12 lakhs... I am really confused..
I am not joining PGDM and will try to get into one the top colleges next year. The wait list guys can count me out
i hope pre admission is followed by 'ADMISSION' ...else, it will turn out to be a ray of FALSE HOPE for me without even knowing wait list number and the chances of selection...!!!

Well put my dear friend...yes it is sad that we dont even know our waitlist numbers...cant imagine if someone attends the meet with all the energy and the next day gets to know the waitlist number is a huge one...
But yes there would still be hope even in that case...as results for other courses would be announced...in case one feels interested...
But one thing..we need to commend the efforts of seniors...imagine their position...they are not even sure if we would be their juniors , but still they are ready to take time of and interact ...thanks a lot seniors:cheers:

or else there are very few ppl from Kolkata who have been selected!!
(not that i would be able to attend the talk anyhow 😞 with final yr exams banging on the door!!)

wen interview i was asked regarding d choice of courses..
i beleive same must be true in your case...
they must have asked you the preference. if u had answered them something then u should not worry..
even otherwise you should not worry..

u hav discussed about how gud TAPMI is considering BFS specialiosation and its placements...I would like to knw hw was the IB specialisation and its placements in the earlier years(if it was dr) wen it was nt a separate course..

I hope that is not the case..They would have made a list of candidates with all the overall marks taking into account PI , CAT ..etc etc..and that is how they gave 120 calls...so I dont think it would be a huge task to give out waitlist numbers ..given that the ranking is already done....
May be none of us will get a final cal..as they have to see how many people confirmed their admission ...but we should get the waitlist number ..and the next day..should hear about the waitlist movement....

first of all , your "send private message " option is blocked.
It seems you have not ticked that option in your profile.
Some suggestions which is only concerned to you can be send to you through that.
My suggestion to you regarding your problem, is that you can quote this genuine problem that you need to confirm your admission in another institute before 12th. So knowing your wait list number and "chances of final call" from TAPMI (Which is your 1st preference) is very important.

This post gives information which is far from truth and based on untrustworthy source. It gives a misleading information about a reputed institute (TAPMI).
I have no objection to people expressing their opinion about any institute. They can brand (or say) a institute as good, bad, ugly etc based upon their opinion. You are free to express and post your decisions about joining/not joining any institute on pagalguy.
But justifying your opinion which is based on a totally wrong information and posting it on a public forum is disgusting and unethical.
One advice (totally free of cost) : It is good (shows your curiosity) that you do not want to trust the official placement report of a 25 year old reputed institute which is known for following ethics and values strictly and you went ahead to collect some unofficial report from your source to get the true picture. But while collecting unofficial report try to collect it from three-four different sources. Do not make decision which based on just one source of information.
