and found none with First preference as operations.

Is there anything wrong with Operations @tapmi or faculty for the same.

Don't know if I got u right.... but I guess you wanna say MANAGEMENT QUOTA... In which few seats are kept reserved with management for.....( u knw wat.. )

Can you pls PM me the link which says that there are no students with operations major in TAPMI? coz, tat information is wrong and we need to correct it if thats how it is updated in the website!!

There are excellent faculty for operations and our Director, Dr. Saji Gopinath, who was an operations faculty at IIM-K, took some courses on operations for us last year.

Last year 2 senies took operations as major. Apart from them more than 35 people took operations as minor. check below

Hi,
I just saw my status getting changed from a waitlisted candidate to a selected one yesterday.I am working in an MNC for past 2.5 years and fetching 4.4lpa.For me it would be worth joining tapmi if i cud make it to 8.8 lpa.I am not doubting on the integrity and brand value of the collage.But I think what ultimately matters is the package that one fetches after the course.Can someone help me in getting out of this dilemma.Seniors Please Help.

Few things which can help you in taking decision.
(1) In our batch there are at least 20 people who have work ex more than 36 months. And there are more than 40 people who have work ex more than 24 moths. Most of them are from MNCs (read all IT companies). Out of 120, 105 people have some work ex. Minimum work ex is 5 month.
(2) The salary figure you have quoted about you, that is what many people have left and joined Tapmi. Some were earning even more than that.
(3) Many of our batch mates either have a foreign stint (onsite work ex.) or they left that chance to join Tapmi.
(4) As far as getting 8.8 l/annum after two years is concerned, let me tell you nobody can guarantee you that. Not only in Tapmi but any other premiere b school.
(5) More than whether to join Tapmi or not, you should think why do you want to pursue MBA. Its good that you are thinking in terms of short term benefit. But I would suggest you to include some more criterias or factors in your decision making process. One such post whci can help you is this

(6) Having a work ex from a reputed MNC is a good thing. But it doesnt make any body exclusive. Now a days all premiere b schools have most of student having more than 2 year of work ex.
(7) You can search the student profile of our senies and get to know how many have more than 22 months of work ex.

so as to avoid a discussion on management quota ( which is by the way not there in TAPMI)starts in this thread ,I thought 2 tell u that nikunj2405 meant it as a joke(and it ws nice)....like the waiting no., tatkal quota of tickets, ........ the thread is already getting repetitive....n there are just few good points here n there( i.e.apart from the contribution of the seniors who are helping us a lot:cheers:) , and this post is not specifically for the person who posted this q ...pls dont take it personally .....but a request to all....pls do read the previous pages b4 posting ur queries and read the post carefully .....it becomes tedious n v.time consuming 4 others to search relevant posts....thanx.......

Not as such, you can wear T-shirts/jeans almost everyday (!!) except special occasions like events, presentations , guest lectures, interviews etc

P.S.- T-shirts/jeans should be formal enough to wear in class

Initially you are supposed to wear formals to college which MIGHT be relaxed to smart casuals (read decent Tees and Jeans) later. During the course of the day you are not allowed to wear burmudas/shorts or overtly casual clothes near the academic block or the library.
The funda is that you are in a professional course and hence should look the part while in class.
You can wear whatver you wish to in the hostel

Are we required to get Blazers or the collge will provide us ???

Also please enlist all the important basic things we need to bring with us .....

You will have to purchase blazers for yourselves. But it is hardly required during the 1st year, except for maybe photographs that will be taken for the ID cards (it'll be individual photos, so u may share a blazer also) or if you are the Vice President/MCs/etc then you'll have to wear a blazer during special occasions.

HI , i heard dat last year seniors were provided wid laptops ...but this year we'll have to purchase our own....will the college help in arranging some bulk deals....lyk at other places...?

Don't lose hope yet! Your CAT score's good enough.
Though many would claim that CAT scores aren't that important!
