I am one among those 120 but in my letter nowhere it is mentioned that the program is AICTE approved. Infact AICTE work is not present in the whole letter. Anyways I would be joining but it would be better if some updates are provided to us at this crucial time. Dont know whats going on ...........
If ur anyway among those 120, then AICTE approval for tht number existed frm before only. The fresh approval of the remaining 60 students does not concern u. I dnt recall any of my admission letters frm diferent instis mentioning AICTE approval unless it was part of a batch expansion. IMHO, u can relax abt tht. And u can check out TAPMI's Mandatory Disclosure for details abt prior AICTE approval.
So everything thus far has been done as a college with 120 seats would normally do. initial calls for 120 seats only and the waitlist movement also for the 120 seats.
The good thing for the ones still waitlisted..
if TAPMI manages to get the AICTE nod, then there will be a BIG movement of guys up the hierarchy because by then the date of payment for the now confirmed guys will have expired and therefore, fresh students from the still waitlisted ones will be inducted for the 60 seats AND people waitlisted even then can keep their fingers crossed coz the waitlist will move for those 60 seats also. phew!
The bad thing will be if the AICTE approval does not come. dunno how many people will opt for the Manipal University degree, comes down to purely their choice..
So, for people like me who're still waitlisted.. PRAYING that the approval does come becomes the primary activity.. and here i would ask the seniors to please share their views on how likely or not do they think is the chances for the approval because even GIM-Goa has/had (dunno the current status) applied for an 100% increase in seats and they released their results for the to be approved seats as well because they believed and were quite sure they would get the nod coz everything was in place. So, just your gut feeling or the feelings around the insti at the moment.. on the approval front, coz u all know the situation better.. anything of that sort will help us, coz its going to be a long wait..
Hi, I just saw my status getting changed from a waitlisted candidate to a selected one yesterday.I am working in an MNC for past 2.5 years and fetching 4.4lpa.For me it would be worth joining tapmi if i cud make it to 8.8 lpa.I am not doubting on the integrity and brand value of the collage. But I think what ultimately matters is the package that one fetches after the course. Can someone help me in getting out of this dilemma.Seniors Please Help.

We have had a long discussion on this earlier. Suggest you to go through the previous posts...
Plz reply with the posts that you consider are relavant to the query i posted just now, since this thread is big enough to find the exact post of the similar kind.
Guys dont want to rely on Inidan postals and dont want to miss this chance what can i do can i send them a D.D directly or its mandate to wait for the letter ??
hi i understand your eagerness to get into TAPMI. But i think that you should wait for the letter at least as it will be mailed. earlier when results were given on 3rd may i guess all ppl got it,so y to hurry ,just wait for 1-2 days and call them to ask abt letters if u don receive any thing
This is what the Dean told me during my director interview:
120 seats PGDM,AICTE approved
60 seats waiting for approval.
In case we(TAPMI) does not get an approval for these 60 seats then they would offer an MBA from Manipal university. So the situation boils down to 120 guys wud be awarded PGDM and the rest 60 guys MBA from Manipal University. He also mentioned that rest all things like course, placements wud be same for both 120 and 60 seats.
Hope this info clarifies ur doubt
Thanks Puts15 Another reason why I asked this question was how this would affect the placements for ppl who could end up getting a degree from Manipal. I know that they will be taught by TAPMI professors and the dean also told me that TAPMI would also be handling placements for them but at the end of the day the degree would be from Manipal.
Am aware that nothing has been finalised yet and there is still a while to go before the admissions close for this season, but later down the line will your career choices / opportunities be affected because your certificate does not mention TAPMI and you lose out on the brand value and the name that the college has.
This is the situation as I understand it (please correct me if I'm wrong) :
1. Calls given for 120 AICTE approved PGDM seats so far.
2. Round I of calls sent out with Rs. 1,00,000/- to be paid by May 10th and a subsequent Rs. 2,10,000/- by May 20th.
3. Round II of calls sent out with Rs. 1,00,000/- to be paid by May 20th and a subsequent Rs. 2,10,000/- by May 27th.
4. No calls issued for additional 60 PGDM, 60 PGDM-BFS, 60 PGDM-IB & 60 PGDM-HCM so far, pending AICTE approval. These potential candidates have been put on waitlist.
5. No offical data on number of calls issued, number of admissions confirmed or number of waitlisted candidates.
Going by the posts so far, there was a movement in the waitlist after those round I candidates who have rejected the offer by not paying the initial Rs. 1,00,000/-. Also, there might be some waitlist movement due to the similar situation arising out of Round II calls as detailed above.
So if I understand correctly, there will be more waitlist movement given that those who have paid the initial installment of Rs. 1,00,000/- but have not paid the subsequent installment of Rs. 2,10,000/- by the respective due dates for both Round I & II candidates.
Those who have been following up with this matter (either directly with the Institute/other users/seniors), please correct me if I'm wrong.
to the ones who converted on the 11th.. i called up the admission office and was told that we wud have to mail our acceptance/rejection of the offer once we get the hard copy of the offer letter already dispatched..they will not be sending any mails(unlike the gdpi process)

If its written in the letter that Bikes are not allowed then better dont bring your bike along. For that matter please avoid going against any rule that is already mentioned in the letter (or PGP rule book which you would receive once you join college). The months starting from July till October are rainy season at Manipal and the place is prone to a lot of accidents. This is why 2 wheelers are not allowed for any 1st years at the moment. However once the rainy season gets over, we would try to convince the mangement to allow bikes for your batch

hey.. congrats.. i too got cleared in the first wait list yesterday. can you guide me through the procedure.. as in where to mail... wat is the amount in the first installment cheque.. how much time does it take for the offer letter to reach etc etc... thanks!!!
Puys, This is actually ridiculous, TAPMI don't tell us anything regarding the waiting list numbers and keep on delaying everything... Looks like they'll come up with the final admission list only by June... Frankly, it should be better managed as there is a difference in being waiting list no. 3 and waiting list no. 90... Lets all sleep till the final list comes in June...

Congrats on the convert mate. As your letter mentions, NO bikes allowed in the campus. The roads inside the campus are quite tricky and become even riskier during the rains. Anyways in the first half of the year you will hardly get to ride a bike because of the downpour. I can really understand ur wish to keep ur bike with you but as of now you will have to leave ur ride at home.
