Nothing that you can do now. I believe the ability to handle nasty bosses and strict deadlines do come in very handy
. There is not much you can do about technical aspects because you do not know which technology you will be a part of. Anyway, you will get enough time to polish your technical skills in the related domain after you start working( its not like you will be given to handle mission critical systems from Day 1 ) .
Your emotional and intelllectual maturity in official capacity determines your future more than your ability to code or whatever. You will appreciate this more after you work for a little while say around 2 years.

Hi puys! I'm final yr b.tech student..recently placed in TCS..likely to join in july...In our ILP corner there are some material on topics like on OS,OOP..Do I need to go through them rigorously!! I heard that there will be a diagnostic test on 1st day! How much is it important? Do these scores have importance in selecting joining locations??
ok..i m working with tcs for an year...had my ilp last year...my advice dont study anything...enjoy your last few days in college...tcs ilp is very chilled out...and ya these test dont even happen for major no. of batches...and even if they do...they have no weightage....u will have 3 major exams....which will be a cakewalk....so enjoy right now and in ilp....because once in project...it gets hectic....

Your score will not at all be relevant for ur branch postings. Generally, a few locations will be given as options(no. of locationsvaries from 2 to 6 depending on batch size)You have to give 3 preferences..and then PRAY:drinking:
Otherwise it may also happen that the entire batch is sent to the same location
U dont need to study anything b4 joining but during ILP do study a bit 4 ur own gud...believe me if u can clear engineering semester exams then a ltl prep during ILP will get u tru:cheerio:

ITIS is IT infraStructure...well frankly speaking ASE(Regular one) is better than ITIS coz in ITIS all that a guy do is granting access to accounts reset passwd,for TCS internal resources,n minor systems admin wrk.. :lookround:

U will be handling wrks which will rarely hav any links with wat u hav studied in d 4 yrs..so d learning will happen on the basis of the project requirements only

There are so many relevant and irrelevant things to say about TCS-HYD. Kindly give me a hint as to what specifically you want so that I get answer the exact queries that you have rather than beat around the bush ( and talk about the weather there !!! )
Well, getting a transfer is nearly impossible before two years unless you have a genuine problem. Dependent parents in Bangalore or your family is there and you are hopelessly sick(This is what I did successfully and that too in just over a year !!!) or your fiancee/fiance there or your spouse there etc etc.
Being adamant is not gonna help. Be smart !!

During ILP u can expect an average of 15k(they provide accomodation so deduct 3880,also mediclaim premium etc...:lookround:)after joining base branch u will be getting 21.5k approx

How hectic it gets depends entirely on the project and ur PL coz I have frns in who are wrking even on saturdays
and also some others who go to ofc only for an average of 7 hrs on most of the weekdays....so talk with college seniors at ur base branch b4 joining any projects and try to get into a cool project

health: am extremely allergic to hot weather...in summer, i start bleeding heavily from my nose...so want to avoid hyderabad and get to banglore...
so will the medical reason provided above help me getting the transfer..if yes then what steps i should be taking???
and if NO then tell some other alternatives...

see a lot depends on your luck...and also your attitude...if u get into a cool project...no load...but in my case i was not that lucky...my pl is mad...but i had my priorities in place...i was very sure that i wanna write cat and get out of here,so i used to go to office..work 8-9 hrs and back...no going to office on weekend and holiday....always came up with excuses and now they have stopped asking..and also since my result is fine...very soon i'll be getting out of here...tcs is one of the best companies to be in and prepare for exams...watever u do,one thing is sure u;ll not be kicked out....
word of advice-learn to say no in tcs,they r always in search of new bakras....

i surely won't bring the case of my gf for this transfer affair...but if i can manage some doc's certificate regarding allergy then will it be enough?? also i have some of my relatives in TCS who have been working for the last 4-5 yrs...so can i approach them for some sort of help...means if they can refer my case to the RMG then are there chances???
