I am pursuing MBA (HR) presently and got selected in TCS last month (Campus placement). I have received my offer letter and the compensation they are offering is Rs 5,27,598/-. So, could you please let me know, that what will be my take home/in-hand salary? My course ends in March 2012, so by what time will i be joining (your guess)? I was told that you will undergo a training program called as "pitsop" (not sure, whether this is how it is spelled), so what is it all about and is there any specific area in which i should start working beforehand?

I am on LWP from TCS and would be passing out in March : 2012. I am doing MBA-Marketing from SIBM, Bangalore campus. Total time spent in TCS before LWP - 29 Months - Last rating: 4.73 - H2 ( If I still remember :P)
I just want to know what package will TCS offer me on joining back so that I can decide what companies I should apply for in my campus placements which are due to start soon.
Also if anyone has any idea of someone who has joined back and how theses cases are treated, how and when the compensation revision takes place and the approx % hike or the package offered this year for LWP cases.

Sorry. I do not have much information about campus recruitment. My guess about take home will be around 35000 - 38000.

@mits: An analyst or a BA in TCS gets anywhere between 8.5 to 11.5 lpa. The work life balance is very much dependent on ur boss...ranges from the mild to the frustrating. So cant really take a call on that.

I have got info that for Tier-1 we can expect 8 to 10 Lakhs and the designation will be Asst. Business Analyst as you have also mentioned. Could you please help me clarify the Tier-2 profiles and packages also. I am not aware which tier does SIBM, Bangalore Campus would fall into. Just want to be informed about both the cases.

Can someone say Is there any link to find cat1 univ and cat2 univ??? And can any one say University of Coventry(U.K) comes under which Cat?? Actually my case is am planning to do MBA in IT(one year course).Will TCS recon the degree from this univ??.And am 2.8 yrs exp with IT and TCS also.Can anyone give explain the same???
what about color blindness test in TCS? Is it still on..during my campus selection in Btech i asked HR about it and he said that they don't hire colorblind people...it this policy still on? ans expected from recent MBA hires...

Every org. follows that and not only TCS. But its easy to pass thru it as only 5-6 numbers in colored dots will be shown. Just ask ur frends and learn them

I am colourblind and I flunked the colourblindness test. But I was allowed to join TCS. No bias at all. This was in 2008. Do not think they would have changed the policy much today.

what is the expected salary after the 1st year in tcs for a fresher?? Does it depend on the domain too??
I have joined recently as a fresher !! So have little clue about it . But there are performance ratings given on the basis of ur performance (conditions apply) . These ratings range from 1 to 5 . Average rating is 3 i guess which is pretty common !! So basically on the basis of these ratings , salary will be hiked !! Apart from that there is some concept of bands as well like A band , etc . Not very sure about that . Others can explain properly about it !!
Anyways for a B.Tech guy after a year , its 3.4-3.9 LPA ( depending on ur rating) . Mostly in this range only . Thats what my seniors told me .
