i joined TCS in July 2011 had ILP in Hyderabad and presently i am on bench...my ISU is LSHC and RMG says no project atleast till january...
my query is if i remain on bench for 4 5 months without my fault then is it going to affect the rating and salary hike i'l get
Thats the case everywhere . I mean in all the ISU's , ppl are waiting for projects . And it seems projects will start coming only in January. So u can wait till then for a project .
P.S: Anyways if u are an MBA aspirant , can prepare for GD's and interviews or even next year CAT
I have got an offer from CTS on 15th dec 2011 (sal-3.05 lpa) in kolkata and from TCS on 27th march 2012(sal-3.16 lpa) at trivandrum..please reply which one should i join giving proper reasons..plssssss..I am really confused..though my gut feeliing says TCS but is it worth the wait???

Both are the same devils ........flip a coin and decide....seriously ...TCS , CTS , Infy , IBM have the same working - so be prepared for it , enjoy what u do ..... PS : If i were you I would first join TCS , get some exposure and them switch to a MNC .....at higher pay....also chances of going onshore are more in indian firms than MNC's

First the basics - in IT firms u need to be a different animal , even if u r on bench because of lack of projects ....at the time of appraisals ...nobody would accept that and will say that u probably never tried "too hard" for the Project ...so brother u need to "butter" yr boss heavily if u wish top survive in IT ....thats lesson no 1 Secondly indian IT is all about outsourcing , body shopping whatever u may call it........best thing is to try for an onsite ..go abroad ..mint money and then decide what next u want to do in life ...as simple as that
how much time does one has to wait to get a project in mumbai TCS..pls, if someone is working in mumbai kindly tell the maximum period on bench on an average..

thanks bro..r u still der in mumbai TCS and can u give me some tips if i get posted over there...what r the onsite opportunities in mumbai??
If its a U.K. based project then 1.5-2 yrs it might be possible but in case of a U.S. based project forget fr 3-4 yrs due to visa issues aur if u get india domain then navi mumbai is onsite
Queries going unanswered on pg.. rare occasion.. Please answer if anybody knows!!!
I dont think anybody really has the answer, I am also on the same boat and have been trying to get an answer, yet to find some one who actually joined back after LWP. If I catch hold of some one, will definitely let you know 😁
I recently joined TCS after completing my Masters from Tier 1 institute. So, Please let us know any queries regarding rejoining TCS after MBA (for those on LWP). I would try to give my opinion!!
