The PaGaLGuY UnderDogs Team 2012

GMAT definitely is better at evaluating the candidates worth, but then the whole GMAT route is not that reliable with the uncertain job scenarios and visa regulations abroad.

and i dont want to invest too much of my money at such a great risk.

bhai, Gmat is a gud option to have simply because the score is valid for more than a year.. also uski english padhi jaa sakti hai without the ambiguous ans from some of the mocks we give.. We already have a lot of material .. Why not give the GMAT and try our luck..

I agree money can be a factor in applying and studying abroad but that is a call that we have to take.. INSEAD, NUS and many other good colleges will be able to take us much closer to a dream job than twiddling our thumbs for another year.

As far as job uncertainity is concerned, yes that is there in some of the developed countries now .. however i refuse to accept the fact that there are no more jobs for top MBA graduates in countries other than the US. We can always look East. Maybe Hong Kong or Singapore.

Kuch nahi to apna pyaara ISB hi option reh sakta hai..
@Omkarp

maalik jab aapne GRE de hi dia hai to Job ki chinta kyun.. kar daalo apply har jagah..

I am saying this because to this date I feel GMAT betrayed me and stopped me from getting a perfect score

matlab how GMAT is a much better option
google search beta... watchout for masters , and many more ... even mba..
gmat was/is/will be always a better option..
unfortunately we are part of this rat race and indians generally can't think differently.
and yes pgdm in india is cheaper than an mba outside no matter how much scholarship you get

agreed that top MBAs will always be in demand, but i just want the fellow puys to be a bit cautious while going through the rankings and the salary figures of these schools.

in US/UK visa is a problem, for rest of the europe language might be a problem and you need a lot of networking to land a good job in the east. also recuperating the MBA fees with an indian salary can be painful as well.
ISB is no doubt a great option.

for the time being lets just focus on CAT/XAT.

PS - these are strictly my personal opinions after going through the forums and talking to a few alumni.

My heart is set on an MBA here.

I can't go now. If I don't get into a college here and leave, it will feel like some kind of a karmic void. I know it sounds weird, but that's really it. :P
@smashed bhai cat ne to humein sadden kar dia hai.. ab aage ka hi dekhna padega..XAt yes.. but i am thinking about a gmat date in the near future....
@Omkarp
know how you feel.. the unfinished business is a common syndrome..

koi nai 9th nov will be your day..

i also feel (for me atleast) yaha CAT khatam hota hai aur GMAT shuru hota hai.
