Dear MBA Aspirants,
With CMAT around the corner, I am sure we all have our minds playing the now too familiar tricks and tantrums of anticipations, self doubting and well, the list goes on………
I am sure most of us are aware of the pattern, timings (and hopefully the venues of the exam) by now and are all geared to begin the quest. I believe that some tips, even at his point in time are going to benefit us. So here goes........
Usually, candidates appearing for any MBA entrance test are in a fix when it comes to decide as to from where to begin, it applies to candidates appearing for CMAT as well.
Get the basics right and revise:
I know, you may be thinking you know it already, but read on…
CMAT is like any other MBA entrance exam is a time bound exam, the candidates need to be crystal clear with the basics. You cannot expect extraordinary results, unless you have the basics right. Hence, you must be very particular about conceptual clarity and should be able to apply the same as and when required. Furthermore, ensure you revise everything before you mount the dreaded chair in the examination hall. Last minute revision refreshes your memory and helps you to recollect certain formulas or vital points.
Time management skills, a must have….
CMAT is designed in such a way that it evaluates a candidate's time management skills too. Being a time bound test, a candidate is expected to divide the time allocated judiciously. So, it is very important to develop this skill. How to do it???? Very simple, try and solve/answer as many mock test as possible. Learn some short-cut techniques and memorize the formulas to save time and avoid unwanted stress in sections requiring them.
Mock tests familiarize you to CMAT….
CMAT exam, like every other qualifying tests examine qualities like speed and accuracy of the candidate. So, the more you go through mock test, you will develop your brain to work quickly and at the same time you will be able to maintain the required precision (it is the most important thing). Moreover, it will boost your performances and give you an idea as to where you stand. The mock scores eventually assist you to identify your goals and flaws in your strategy, therefore, gives you a chance for improvement.
In the end, remember that we have been subjected to many tests in the past. We have appeared, passed and most importantly SURVIVED exams and we will do the same with CMAT…
All the best!!!!!!

The best way to begin is to “be familiar with CMAT”. Assuming that you are alone in a jungle and you can sense a tiger or a lion around, which case do you think would you be more scared?? When you are not sure of where the tiger or lion is or when you can see it?? Well, obviously when you can see it because then you could decide which direction to flee in 😁 or for the brave ones out there, to formulate some other plan .
The same case is with the CMAT. Hence, try to know more about the examination, the CMAT test pattern (it is all over the internet!!!!!). Once you are familiar with it; the dread factor leaves you for good. Furthermore, try to analyze your strengths and weaknesses (SWOT Analysis as they say). You might not be able to figure out numerical problems, but may have a flair for other subjects. Knowledge about your weaknesses and strengths will make you aware as to where you have to focus extra efforts.
