Here's the link to the previous year's threads. There isn't any substantial activity in either but I hope we can contact the people who posted there to ask about their experiences.
there is 100% placement for Media and Cultural Studies and different kind of profiles are offered. But initially the package may not be high. Check this link for a clear picture : http://cmcs.tiss.edu/cmcs/placements . You can also download the brochure on the same page and contact some of the seniors for an exact view.
Questions are asked on India's political, social scenarios and also on the movies, directors, books which you like.
I think the first thing we need to do is mail the seniors. I have seen the syllabus in the brochure but a bit skeptical about the initial packages.
Although packages don't matter it's your passion towards the subject which matters, I would still need a more clear picture. What say puys?
Wats the cut off? Though I have applied for it and got through but I am still unsure about my interest in this field. Interested only in HR. Needs more clarity regarding this line.
@anudsweetI think cut-off was 76 or above as I know one guy with 75 who has not been shortlisted. Even I need a little more clarity regarding this line. I am only aware of what is there in the brochure.
Found 2 sample papers, but these are for the 2010-12 batch, when there used to be 2 sections (subjective & objective). I think the topics might still be relevant.
read in gdpi thread for media that initial packages are too low. from 2-3.5 L. And placements are not 100%. Need some senior to throw light on this.
Yes , we have to get in touch with seniors. Even I have read the same. Although it is your passion towards the course which matters in the end and I have a great inclination towards media but still then we would have to do research and take a call. Mail the concerned seniors as of now.
I was told by a senior that there is no PIT for MCS. I have asked him again to confirm. If he replies, I will update the same here. I got 90 and selected.
So I am assuming that TISSnet scores will make a difference while they decide on the final list and cumulative scores will be in consideration.. I am in at a measly 78.. :\

I don't think written score will matter that much. Cut-off is most likely 76,77 or 78. More or less everyone would be in the same range, max being around 85. If the interview panel is impressed they will pick you anyway.
