There is no as such specific format for report. Just write a heading for the report like a topic for essay as given in the question paper. Yes the style of writing should be passive and like a reporter. It doesn't mean that you have to go for an out of box content. Content should be same like essay. Only difference is don't elaborate too much on suggestions.
As far as revision is concerned, stick to the source you have covered earlier. If you haven't covered any source earlier, refer any source I have mentioned in my post earlier but with a light mind as you may not be in a position to revise them.
