hey aditya..since u r a student at wlngkr, u might be able to clear a little doubt..i had sent da appl form on da 9th & it was delivered on 12th..also i had apparantly applied thru da CET but forgot to send da admitcard of da same..neways i called up a Mr. jayant and he told me to send an email to [email protected] mentioning my rollno. etc., which i did on 13th..... finlly i haven't got a call although my cet went really well (i haven't given CAT dis year but my xat score is 98 percentile)...

couldn't get a call from xl or ximb due to sectional cutoffs...have got admssn in gim though...but i'm extermely keen on getting into JB...i'm expecting a score of around 135-140 in cet at least...but since i haven't got thru welngkr am a little confused..more over every one is posting dat most of da guys have been shortlisted ..i'm pretty sure dat my CET didn't go dat bad or else i'm in for a shock of my life....my querry is ,could dere be a chance dat my application was not accepted or my scores not collected from dte?? i called up at da inst. n some clerk chap replied huffily saying dat they dont know about da scores...i guess he didnt get my querry
i'd be really grateful if u'd reply....

i have no idea on why u weren't selected. getting this reason will be difficult as the college itself doent have the exact cet scores. it cud have been any of a hundred different reasons.

hey mukta,
the psychometric test will be an objective one, it is done to test ur personality and to c that u r honest in ur answers. it is nothing to b afraid abt. just try and b honest. few questions will be the same but asked in a different way (u wont come to know) just to check ur consistency in answering.
example of a psychometric que: out of the tasks given to u when would u perform the task that u dislike the most. in the beginning or the end?
u need not worry abt the psychometric test.

everything depends on wat specialisation u want. considering that u r appearing for TISS i assume that u r interested in HR.
i dont have any knowledge abt IISWBM so pardon me for that (any coaching class will enlighten u on it). God forbid if u cannot make it this yr, and suppose u dont opt for IISWBM, u can do a diploma in HR say from NM(one of my friend is doing) its a one yr course and side by side u can give another shot at CAT (MDI-HR etc..), XLRI, TISS, XISS (decent for HR), SCMHRD and other institutes. diploma will give u a focus and it will also add value to ur candidature.

I am working for Career Forum(Marketing Executive+Counsellor)..........So I Would like to give you some feedbk abt IISWBM, Kolkata.......This Institute was the 1st in India to provide Mgmt Edu..estd in 1953......top college in Cal........takes only CAT scores for MBA (day)......under Cal Univ.......Many top notch already in industry....some of their children were also with me during the GD /PI session........I feel the only thing tht mars it quality stuff would be the REDs (read Left) of cal. not allowing much of the industries to know abt ......Still 100% palcement and good after intial placements as well.faculty are well read and profs of IIMC take the lectures........Cutoffs usu 78 percentile

its sad to hear that the institute is suffering because of political interference. mayb the existing students can promote the institute thru this forum afterall word of mouth publicity goes a long way in influencing ppl's opinion.

Hey Aru.
IISWBM.Kolkata is a good brand name as far as the industry is considered.
I know national sales managers & are sales managers of reputed organisations, who are IIS WBM alumni.
It is one of the oldest institutes in India and the placements are decent.The only thing is the syllabus is rigid and old, since it is an oldinstitute.
For further info, I could give you an ISWBM,Kolkata's email ID.Just give me a day.

Well mate, 3 marks less in my written exam for NM and you know perfectly well I'd have been sitting on this thread with anxiety levels going through the roof...it's all a matter of where we think we are in relation to the universal whole :p. Anyway, this isn't the place to expound on existentialism. We'll speak soon enough I'm sure.

what is considered 50% comes frmm mumai univ's definition of it. as far as i know, for the three year grads (b.com.,b.sc., etc.) it is the ty results, for engg. it is the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th semesters. i.e. whatever appears on ur final marksheet.

Have a ques. In the call letter, they have mentioned to bring in the call letter, the admit card and a copy of the CAT score card, but they have not mentioned to bring in the original documents/certificates. We have to bring that, too, right?
