mount carmel is near south campus delhi university its in dhaula kuan in case u r new to delhi ask any person to guide you to dhaula kuan and there u have venki college and go ahead you have south campus and next to that u have anand niketan and thats where the school is. its pretty simple and u cannot get lost if u just remember dhaula kuan and venki coll. all the auto walas in front of venki will take u to carmel for 15 to 20 bucks. and as for its proximity to khelgoan its ok and same with gurgaon but then start a hour earlier if coming from either of the two.

also interestin part is.. they were told last yr tht only 1500 calls were made (exception of 1 post whr they saif 5k calls) and as we all knwo now.... all those who applied were called!!!
and this yr welingkar claims 2500 calls... wonder wat is the actual figure
also i believe those with high %ile in cat..with a ok gd n pi.. shud be thru
lets c and hope the process is transparent and all deserving individuals get thru welingkar!

jay...i'm not absolutely sure about people with a high percentile being sure shots at wellingkar...i was a candidate last year and can tell you that wellingkar has a strange preference for the middle level percentile candidates...that perhaps would explain why just one person from PG made it last year...i'm not saying that they reject people with high percentiles...i'm just saying that people with a lower percentile have a fair chance as well....
and as far as backdoor entries are concerned...yes...wellingkar is notorious for them...though i think they are trying to reduce them...they would have to if they want to climb up quickly...overall...uday salunke is marketing it very very agressively...i think it would be a force to reckon with in the next 5-6 years or so...
about the selection process...last year's was divided into 2 rounds...only if u clear your gd/gi were u called for the final interview and psychometric test...gd lasted for 20 minutes i think...my group had got the topic 'is paying lakhs and lakhs of Rs. as starting salary to fresh management graduates justified?'...PI had 2 panelists...one seemed to be some sort of a psychologist who remained silent...the other guy was an old professor...and yah...i was fairly disappointed with the people who took the pi...the old professor had come to my graduation (bms) college for a guest lecture once...so he asked me about different prof's at the college...about my favourite project and sent me back in 6-7 minutes...it was a strange interview and i don't think i did well...obviously got rejected!...but made it to MICA this year...
the pyschometric test as aditya said is basically to test your personality...the biggest mistake u can make there is to lie...answer each question as honestly as u can and it won't be a problem!
also i believe those with high %ile in cat..with a ok gd n pi.. shud be thru

i think the 1,500 calls related to round 2. round 1 had everybody called. As regards, back door entries or mgmt. quota, i think i know the ppl who have come thru there and their number is low enuf to think that it doesnt exceed the declared 5%. This includes my juniors.
as to y only one of pgites got in, i have no answer. i think the problem cud be with the use of corporates as panelists for gd/pi. these ppl are given guidelines on what parameters to judge candidates but being sr. hr ppl, they sumtimes have their own way to understanding who is fit according to those guidelines. i got this idea from one post which said the pi panel was second rate. remember that these experiences are based on what a person feels his/her pi was. i agree it is a reasonably good indicator but quite often candidates make mistakes that they may not know of, but the panelists notice. just to put it in perspective; do u notice the body language u use when talking in a gd or pi?? small points but very high value.
just to give u an example, a guy had written in the form that his role model was osama bin laden. nuthing rong here but he thought on y during the pi, when asked. this lost him valuable points. although he was bright and cud readily come up with a reason. he tot he had done well, but that moment's hesitation in the pi cost him for the reason that he doesnt know what he says. he did gain on quick thinking. any pi, is a minefield like this.
ditto with the psychometric test. no college wud want an extremely agressive person or someone who is extremely shy.or for that matter someone who has trouble working in a team.

hey aditya..since u r a student at wlngkr, u might be able to clear a little doubt..i had sent da appl form on da 9th & it was delivered on 12th..also i had apparantly applied thru da CET but forgot to send da admitcard of da same..neways i called up a Mr. jayant and he told me to send an email to [email protected] mentioning my rollno. etc., which i did on 13th..... finlly i haven't got a call although my cet went really well (i haven't given CAT dis year but my xat score is 98 percentile)...
couldn't get a call from xl or ximb due to sectional cutoffs...have got admssn in gim though...but i'm extermely keen on getting into JB...i'm expecting a score of around 135-140 in cet at least...but since i haven't got thru welngkr am a little confused..more over every one is posting dat most of da guys have been shortlisted ..i'm pretty sure dat my CET didn't go dat bad or else i'm in for a shock of my life....my querry is ,could dere be a chance dat my application was not accepted or my scores not collected from dte?? i called up at da inst. n some clerk chap replied huffily saying dat they dont know about da scores...i guess he didnt get my querry

everything depends on wat specialisation u want. considering that u r appearing for TISS i assume that u r interested in HR.
i dont have any knowledge abt IISWBM so pardon me for that (any coaching class will enlighten u on it). God forbid if u cannot make it this yr, and suppose u dont opt for IISWBM, u can do a diploma in HR say from NM(one of my friend is doing) its a one yr course and side by side u can give another shot at CAT (MDI-HR etc..), XLRI, TISS, XISS (decent for HR), SCMHRD and other institutes. diploma will give u a focus and it will also add value to ur candidature.
