Matee....mesz sh** scared after reading his blog.....man..the answers these guysz expected out of us..i doono if we are even close to the minimum criteria mark.....i guess i shouldnt be talkin for everyone here....at least when it came to me.....i guess i wasnt really as specific as he said the panelist expected......God save the Queen....and me!!!

For how many pgs is Welingkar the last option for MBA this year? Any1 already into some other B school and trying for WElingkar as a better option?

and met quite a few ppl at gd/pi who were rejectd by kjsom & welingkar was their only option. the competition is surely tough :huh:

This is my first post at pagalguy...
Let me start with some useful info... inside info about Welingkar
This is especially to calm down still_in_lead's nerves... :)
Official Wellingkar figures:
No. of students applied: 18000
No. Students shortlisted: 2400
They prefer people with work experience. So if you have work ex then you are probably competiting with about 1200 people (safely assuming half the applications are without work ex, I guess I can easily do that). Furthereore if you have also applied for the PGPe course you are competition for about 180 seats among 1200 people thats more than 10%. So you have a chance of more than 10% chance of getting in Welingkar just like any other student :)
Moreover if you have given you CAT and applied admissions you don't need an outstanding score I guess a 70 - 80 percentile should be good enough. However if you have applied on the basis of your CET you will need a damn good rank in you written test (Wellingkar already has the written test, CET, ranks of all the students who had applied)
I hope that has helped answer a few of your questions...
PS: Personally I think they are faking the number of applicataions at 18000. My personal research shows that there were just 4,757 students who had applied... But rest assured I can definitely be wrong. The 4,757 number could also be the number of studnets who had applied from Mumbai...

Adding to the previous message, What I have also heard from trusted sources, is that during Summer Placements, the Engineers get placed quickly but most of the non-engineers have trouble in finding summer jobs. So I guess the preference MIGHT be towards the Work-ex guys and the Engineers since they are "easy to place".

after welingkars , also tried 4 sies. it was on 14th. i was shocked to see 500 applicants wyin 4 just 15 seats.. man all of a sudden , everyone , wants to be an mba. my hopes solely on welingkars , and mabe after tat cet.

Let me give u thr rite figures.

Seats are 120 for PGDBM, 60 for PGPeB at Mumbai and 30 at Bangalore. That makes it a total of 210.
This shud get everyone to hv the rite figures.

Hey adi..thanksz for all this info man..appreciate it...but how bout telling us the exact date as to when gthe results will be out..itsz no use speculating thingsz yaaaa.....even if u can give us an approximate date...n plsz dont say last week of may for heavensz sake!!!!

Wellingkar has a centralised palcement process so no matter if you are in an MMS or a PGDBM or a PGPe the companies will have access to all the students...

I tried to find out some information about your courses but I could'nt gain
complete knowledge about your courses from the website.
Does your institute accept the rankings of CET you have for all the courses ?
You have a centralised admission procedure, so is IMBA and WCM also included in this process?Or do they have placements abroad?
Could you please elaborate about the placements of WCM course with some data about the average salary ,highest salary etc. Does Welingkar follow the same procedure for selection as that of PGDBM?
