ACTUALLY AFTER HAVING GOTTEN INTO ITM, U HAD NO BUSINESS POSTING ON THIS THREAD! this argument is getting outta hand. Its actually very trivial. Each college has its own positives and negatives. The basic fact you ppl hv to understand is that things will never be all what u expect it to be.
Granted, a good manager may be someone who can get out of sticky situations but the way u guys are going abt it, i doubt this will end.
I thought the idea of a forum is to exchange ideas, so there is nothing wrong in someone reading and posting on some other college's thread. The idea of the thread should be that n e one who reads the thread should get a fair idea of what the college is like.
Dont bother abt someones views, thr are other ways to prove that person wrong. Fighting isnt the way. the coffee invitation can be taken up. This way all of us can learn.
i have know few ppl who told me its having very poor placement as far as job profile is concerned......and return on investment is very low ......is that true?
NFI dude........but I think its worth a shot for freshers who are not great at taking these kind of standardized tests.

do think they can place a person with three yeras of work exp. in operation after Engg having spend in 1 yeras outside india.

yep. one of my classmates was an engineer with 6 yrs. work ex before he joined. he was placed. ultimately it comes down to you proving during the interview that your experience will be useful to them. Actually that will decide where you will get into the company.

The Bangalore campus offers two courses. PGPeBiz and PGDBA. The first batch of ebiz is currently in their second year and so placement details will take a few more months. Based on the summer internships, the scene seems to be good.
Hi there! I am pursuing my PGP-EBiz course at Welingkar Bangalore. Plus points of being in Bangalore: 1. For executive placements, Bglore has definitely winning edge over any other place in India, if one compares ratio of good companies in town to good B-schools in town (Think @ no of good B-schools in Mumbai). Bglore is the happening place. We are looking fwd to very good placements this yr. 2. Faculty: Excellent Faculty to Student ratio. Deans & Core faculty from Mumbai fly to Bglore. There are fundu visiting faculties from Industry (even CEOs, CIOs) 3. Access to IIMB library 4. Hostel at best area in town - Koramangala Lot & lot of assignments are keeping us very busy! No time for chilling out here in Bglore!!! Sai

Hi Guys I am applying in Welingkars for thier Retail Management course. It's a 2 year PGDBM with specialisation in Retail Management. And an assured placement in Pantaloon Retail india. Infact Pantaloon is conducting the course along with Welingkars. Pantaloon is a huge organization with a turnover of 650 cr. Also the retail sector is opening up in India and a lot of jobs are there for the taking. Mumbaikars......pls tell me how is Welingkars....and pls do comment on this course....

Some of the Cos, that have picked up Students for Summers are Wipro Technologies, Arvind Mills, Godrej, Ceat, Oracle, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, RBI, UTV, Lintas, Siemens, etc.. to name a few...
And the majority of Guys placed have been from Ebiz especially, Maybe due to the Added edge of "Technology", that the course Blends with Management.
Well as of now, we are following the Tri-mester pattern, and its been a hectic schedule. We have been having lecs daily from morning 9 to evening 9, and in between, we do find time to chill.....
Agreed to the fact tht it is one of da gud institutess in mumbai but is the program worth investing 4 lacs . ppl havin contacts in welingkar plz help out . also how important is it to have work experience to get the nod in selection process ?

Work ex is certainly important and some institutes like SP jain give a lot of priority to it. But if u have a good percentile and are faring very well in GD and PI, u have as good a chance as a work ex guy......

hey mahesh... i've heard dat welingkars considers only da overall score..and not the sectional scores.is dat totally true? cause my net score is coming around 33-34...which acc to most institues like CF,CL,IMS etc..should get me at least 88 percentile...and dat should be enough for welingkars.however my quant score is damn low (0.33 ) ...is there ne chance i'll still get a call frm welingkars...with such a low quant score? regards... ryan.
