A friend of mine wants to apply to Welingkar but is not giving CET and is rather going in for conversion to CET score. So can he apply to welingkar.

no he cannot.they have specifically said that either cat or cet scores will be used.and they also want you to enter the cet application number.the conversion is only for the mms programme.

hey everybody.i have applied to welingkars too.i am currently completing my grad from ruia (2 buildings away from welingkars) and feel people here should know a thing or two about welingkar.welingkar doesnot give out seperate placement details for their mms and their pg programmes.also only the pgdbm course is recognised by aicte.their so called international placements include ghana,kenya and tanzania.the brand name helps a lot to get in companies.but i feel it should be kept as a last shot option.oms people with really good cat/mat/xat score should try to get into the mms programme by conversion.the very fact tht the degree is from mumbai univ will hold a lot of value.if u want a pg programme.go for pgdbm.tc.atb pple.

PS : Placements are not the sole criteria but cant b ignored as well.Monetary stuff is too important to be neglected.

Let me put to rest some doubts: the placements have been good this year.. i had quoted them in my previous posts. pls take the pains to go through them if you wanna knw abt them.
Secondly, figures of 1.2 /2 lakhs are figures of last millenium i think... so wont comment on that..

thirdly, the guy from ruia, please confirm before making hara kiri statements...
Ghana,Kenya, Germany,etc are for Summer internships and not final placements..

and i can assure you that they have been enriching expereinces for my seniors....

This year too, we are having companies coming in for germany and other countries.. the process for international summers has just began....
as of now BMW, BMW Publicis, Seimens VDO are coming in March for Summer Interns....

others will follow....

Also the college does take interested students to Japan on an industrial trip at extra costs..... last years students visited many companies interalia Toyota to understand their way of working..

Welingkar is having aliances with many foreign reputed B-Schools, the details for the same can be found on the website.


As for admission criteria, its clearly mentioned in the form and my previous posts, the Entrance exam scores holds 1/3rd value and the rest is for GD/PI/Psychometric Tests and yr essay answers....

cutoff i cant really predict....

hey dude.i never said final placements...but summer internships(placements) in ghana,kenya et al.by the way since u r in welingkar can u provide us with seperate figures for packages for pg and mms.also regarding the query pple have made about the figure welingkar disclosed to aicte,those wud only be figures for pgdbm(only aicte recognised pg course in welingkar).thts the only course most pple wud want and it actually shows placements for pgdbm are not upto the mark.so if u cud provide us wid seperate figures things will be a lot clearer.

hey.i cannot comment on da cutoffs.there are a lot of marks for the essay form u filled while applying along wid ur marks.also gd/pi will be taken by industry representatives so u have to be as smart and witty as possible.pscychometric test is all upto you.no one can help u der.

well well well karthik.. bhai,.. who told ya that the highest sal at Wellingkar is 3.5????

i dont agree to that,, as far as i know the avg itself this yr is arnd 4 to 4.25 l pa....

and finance guys have got worth 5/5.5 ... got a frnd thr.. so can confirm abt it...

abt 100% placement... not sure... its jus gas as it is 4 almost all institutes....!!

i am not able to understand the difference you are stating for figures submitted to AICTE and Other.. if yu can elaborate or send a link for the same i can try and clear out the confusion....


as for difference between PG/MMS / EBIZ... its difficult to get exact breakups of all 3 classes as its with the placement committee.. knowing among all frnds i have in all 3, i can say that placements have always been better a tad better for EBIZ and PG compared to MMS..

The issue is that the placement details provided by Welingkar in it's brochure is not matching with the details which Welingkar has submitted to AICTE (a copy of which is put up on Welingkar's website).

well jay.i didnt even have to reply.everyone has seen it.i know welingkar is a top notch b school which is why i want to clarify all the shady areas associated with it.i have applied here but want to be sure i am not given a raw deal on it.
