hi...this is a query from my friend who resides in delhi..unfortunately he has not received any calls so far....this was his 3rd try for mba ....and he really wants to do it......he wanted some info on the following colleges...
1. infinity business school delhi--last date of applying 7th marc 2. ****-delhi 3.Welingkar
he has a 68 percentile in cat and 92 in xat.....what r his chances in these institutes and wat r ur views abt these colleges.also he has given mat on 6th feb...so that he can apply for jbims but again prob there is the gd/pi and final results fot that would be much later and no jbims at that stage means no mba....kindly solve his problem
heard dat 99 percentile in mat is equivalent 2 120 in cet.check it out.

i dont agree to that,, as far as i know the avg itself this yr is arnd 4 to 4.25 l pa....
and finance guys have got worth 5/5.5 ... got a frnd thr.. so can confirm abt it...

Well dude... how would anyone of us know where your form is...shouldn't u be calling up the WELINGKAR office :satisfie:
1 . How do you think I could have answered it better..or for that matter anyone else ??? Obviously..since it says FORMS not recieved... it has not been recieved ...so what can we do about it ?? The best "YOU" can do is ...if you had send it thru SPEEDPOST...u might have the small sticker they give which has some reference no. U can go to the PO and check with them.
2. and in matters such as this..when 1 day is left for the deadline...doesnt it seem sensible enough to call up WELINGKAR>>.i mean can anyone of us can help you making sure your form reaches there ??!?? there is no way we can...Atleast the Welginkars people are the ones whose opinion will matter the most and not anyone on PG ... and how long would u wait for a reply on the forums ?? Wasnt the deadline today ?

Wel fren don worry..I also faced the same prob..They updated the section after 15 days..So wait 4 another week..
The issue is that the placement details provided by Welingkar in it's brochure is not matching with the details which Welingkar has submitted to AICTE (a copy of which is put up on Welingkar's website).
there seems to be some confusion,
the brouchure was developed right back in october-november as the forms/brouchure was available from then... the palcements happened in 1st week of january.... so those figures will be submitted to AICTE...
the college cannot issue new brouchures after placements.. right?? they will be reflected in the brouchures next year...
hope that solves yr query...

p.s. i am not sure for which year, the AICTE report has been posted abv, but as far as my knowledge goes.... 7 lac was the highest package fo my super seniors....i.e. batch of 2003-2005.... and the batch tht jus got placed is 2004-06... whose latest figures have been posted on the website...either the deadline to submit details to aicte is yet to come or they have not updated their details...

hey dude... thnks a lot for clearing out the confusion bout the welingkar application form.. i hav a 92%le too..and i missed out on a lot of good colls by not applying too(duh)..well as far as i knw i don think any other good coll is left out...why don u go and check out ITM,navi mumbai webite..i feel they'r still open... good luck

oops..ok,well then..hows babe,instead of dude.. i aint a dude either:) since i missed out on a lot of good colls,i applied to ITM..and as far as ive heard,ITM has decent placements and infrastructure(u can read more bout it on the ITM thread),but not good enuf compared to KJ Somaiya and welingkar i guess...
