I'm a B.com Final year student and my graduation aggregate should come around to 60-65% once the results are declared.i don't have work-ex,not even part time.my xtra-curricular activites are Ok,i've been a member of the college editorial board.

Dear Tam,
would like to inform you that last year i had call from Welingkar...with 96%ile in ATMA...however i had 1 yrs experience then ...
so be prepared for GD/PI..and ofcourse the Pschyco test...

i don't think if they have any reservations for SC/ST category...if they have then good luck
one more thing ,..most of the colleges however accept the MAT/ATMA scores but the weightage given to CAT/GMAT score is always more...just a experience!!! not to be quoted :)

The people who join w'kar are mostly from one of these categories:
1--who wanna do MBA just for the heck of it
2--who feel good "chick quotient" is of paramount importance for any MBA class :wink:
But, if you have decided that you are going to join it and fear rejction let me tell you that WELLINGKARS IS THE ONLY B-SCHOOL IN INDIA WHICH DOESNT REJECT ANY STUDENT WHO IS MERITORIOUS ENOUGH TO COMPLETE HIS GRADUATION. THEy PREFER THE OPTION OF INCREASING THE NUMBER OF SEATS

last year in CAT 07 i got 85%ile.My acades are-
81% in 10th
79% in 12th,i am a science graduate with no work ex.
The faculty at TIME assured me that i would be called for GD PI .
But i got terrible results.i wasn't called for the gdpi
When i contacted the authorities,they give butirritating replies,Nobody proivded the reasons,didn't reply my e-mails.Further a person with less %ile and academic record was called.i just couldn't metaphor their procedure.Can u help me

I am in last year of Engineering. I had given CAT this year.and now i am confused that of which college form should i fii up.
I got 82% in 10 std.
I got 78% in 12 std.
My BE aggregate percentage is 69%.
In CAT I am getting
47 in Qua
42 in DI
07 in Eng as per CL & TIME analysis
12 in Eng as per IMS & career forum analysis
96/101 overall
And Expected Percentiles
94.5 as per IMS
95 as per Career forum
94.44 as per TIME
90 as per CL
92 as per Test Funda
But my eng section persentile is only 37-47.
can i get call from welingkar?

Ok...Rocky well i dont deny that there is huge scope for someone with big pockets to get admission into Welingkar.
therefore the reasons given by you perfectly suits only those type of students whose fathers have lots of money lying in their coffers and their spoilt child/s wants to play a more costlier game with good looking chicks(they also have same intentions)..so i guess it will keep happening as long as people have no appropriate opportunities to invest their money so plbly they want to send their children for MBA especially in Mumbai..stock market is down,their chidren cant go abroad because they dont have that potential to make into good colleges...offcourse they can go again with management fee style seats in foreign colleges..or to some lower grads university..
so ..Apart from this there are no other reasons why you shouldn't consider doing MBA from welingkar....i have seen best of faculty when i studied there..i know many of my friends from other High ranking B-schools who use to tell frustrating stories from their colleges..in that respect i feel welingkar is lot to offer..both for MMS and PG courses..
See i m not promoting my own college as ex-student of the college..i dont want to spoil any students career by giving some wrong advice..but given a chance like this when you just pointed out reasons(only wrong side) ,someone who has studied should also come forward and bring the existing good side about the college..
Also ultimately it depends on the students own interest,his own goals and ambition,etc,etc..that he decides to do an MBA,then ..there are many students who don't have money to even go for a merit seat..i guess u r intelligent enough what i mean to say..
In this world there will always be divide between poors and Rich.and so will there be difference between the intentions of their goals..
leave apart it..if someone is really worth he will do good anywhere he goes and studies..
see i m not trying to blame or teach you..and dont want to start a meaningless fights here..just wanted to clarify that welingkars has lot of potential in coming years to go up and do well..and i also want to make point to welingkar admin that pls restrict admission quota (seats and management fee criteria)..
