how is job prospects in US for the Indians on completing CFA ?
That's too generic a question, in my opinion. Can you be more specific? What functions/industries are you thinking? What is your background, and what's your angle when you apply to a firm?
i am planning to specialize on asset management . .. . I ve completed my Bcom from a reputed Indian Institution . .and now i am preparing for CFA . . .

Got it. If you are focusing on the U.S., I would suggest preparing for an MBA application. The "safest" route to break into Asset Management/Investment Management would be to head to a reputed B school, and then recruit in the right ways. You can pursue a CFA in parallel. That will certainly help - both in your MBA app, and during recruiting. However, just the CFA is not going to get you noticed in the field, unless you get lucky or have a strong network. Note that I'm generalizing, and not trying to discourage you.
I have got through SIBM-Pune. I need one advice from you all. I have come to know that SIBM-P is very good for it's marketing and HR specializations. However, I am interested in pursuing MBA in finance only. How good would you rate the Fin-specialization of SIBM-P. Also, if you could rank the best Fin-specialization MBA colleges in India, it would be of great help.
Thank you.
PS: I will be doing my MBA this year from SIBM-P only and have no plans of taking SNAP/CAT/XAT next year.

A friend of mine knows a person who is pursuing MBA in Finance from SIBM-P. He must be in the second year now. Sharing what i have found out. As far as the course is concerned, you will not have any complaints. Its a comprehensive and thorough curriculum and they deal with almost everything under the sun in those two years. As for the placement scenario, its decent enough. Don't really remember the figures and i don't wanna quote wrong stuff. So all in all a decent bet. But then again it all comes down to what other options you have as well.
PS- Try posting this on the SIBM thread , you will get more opinions there PPS- Congrats on the convert, i too converted but i'm undecided 😐

Thank you. The approximate placement figures for finance would do as well. So please let me know the average and the highest packages offered there.

As for options, SIBM-P is the best call that I have. 😃
You can be looking at something in the range of 7.5-8.5 . No idea about highest though. This year things look pretty grim as far as the placement scenario is concerned. Hopefully that wouldn't be the case two years hence

Project Appraisal is about general management perspective of a project including operational , implementable and financial feasibility of new project
Financial and Business valuation can be financial valuation of a existing business or future project

Typically people go for CFA/FRM courses while pusuing MBA , so would recommend that only , having said that please wait for a term or two to decide if finance is really what you want to pursue
You can give CFA in december or june next year atb 😃
