Lets not forget that xat Quant's isnot easy and we can't afford to stop practising. So let's get down to solving some sums!!!

Concept/Quadratic Eqn shortcut:
In questions like:
X= √ (n + √ (n - √ (n + √ (n - √ (n + ......... Find X?
No need to form quadratic and then solving....Direct formulaes:
1) If +,-,+,- alternating under root, formula= [root(4n-3)+1]/2
2)If -.+,-,+ alternating under root, formula = [root(4n-3)-1]/2
3)If normal +,+,+,+ under root, formula = Just write n=k(k+1) i.e. product of two consecutive positive integers and then the answer would be (k+1)
Example :X= √ (30 + √ (30 + √ (30 + √ (30 + √ (30 +.....Write 30= 5 * 6Here k+1 is 6 Hence answer would be 6.
4) If normal -,-,-,- under root, formula = Just write n=k(k+1) i.e. product of two consecutive positive integers and then the answer would be (k)Example :X= √ (30 - √ (30 - √ (30 - √ (30 - √ (30 -.....Write 30= 5 * 6
Here k is 5 Hence answer would be 5.
P.S. : If number is not in the form of 2*(triangular number) i.e. not in the form so that we can express it as a product of two consecutive natural numbers, then we have to go with the normal method.
x, 17, 3x - y^2- 2, and 3x + y^2- 30, are four consecutive terms of an increasing arithmetic sequence.
The sum of the four numbers is divisible by:
wtf!! Does GK in XAT has a sectional cut-off ??
Would anyone recommend HandaKaFunda GK Course for XAT ? (or any other)
I mean I know GK doesn;t have a course but it surely has a specific pool of areas from which Q are asked. This is coming from a guy who cleared IIFT all cut offs and got 0 in Gk lol. Need suggestions !!
