Hi guys,
Last year i had 95% with balanced sectionals but i had not filled up XIMB, mainly because i had apprehensions of its orissa quota.
This year i am planning to fill up for XIMB, but i have a query. How many seats amongst the 120 are reserved for orrissa domicle. I tried searching it on the website but could not find it anywhere.
Not being a resident of orissa, how are my chances of clearing the cut offs and to what extent does the domicile play a role in facilitating the entry of the orrissa residents.
You guys being a XIMBians, must be in best position to answer my query.

Hi fultoo,
the institute does not have any specific no. of seats earmarked for people from orissa domicile... a minimum cut-off score is set (a bit lower than the actual cut-off) for the domicile category and thereafter the admission is on merit basis...
your chances of getting admission are as good as mine and akil's...coz none of us fall under the domicile category...its meritocracy that wud facilitate your admission...
hope this clears your doubts..
For XIMB's PGDM(RM), feel free to shoot your queries....

Hi,
I belong to the Domicile Category. Can you please throw some light on the exact cut off for PGDRM Course of XIMB.Secondly, how does it fare compared to IRMA?I plan to appear for IRMA's entrance also.So it would be really beneficial if you can also state the last year's cut-off marks on the basis of IRMA's test score.
Thirdly, how are the palcements like?the website doesn't offer enough information.i would like to know about the kind of places people are posted, the actual take home salary etc.Do the PGDM Faculty teach the PGDRM students?

The complete placement report can be downloaded from http://www.ximb.ac.in/placement/Xuberance2007.pdf
rest of your queries would be answered by fidel...
I have filled the online application form, the PA form for XIMB does not have any requirement of a photograph, please confirm the same as it looks a little weird to me. I have checked on the net many a times.
I think they should have specifically mentioned this unconventional aspect in the form.
Thanks in advance.

The photograph is not required. XIMB uses the same pic that you upload for XAT!
Fidel,
Can you let me know the cut-offs for last year...Both IRMA and XAT cut-offs for PGDRM.
Also there was some speculation last yr that the seats are going to be increased ...
What would be the number of seats for PGDRM this yr??

Exact cutoffs are not known to any one....a rough estimate will be around 85 marks(for XIMB) in Irma test with atleast 15+ in G.K section. As comparison is not allowed...I will suggest u to revisit the IRMA @ XIMB site which will gv u a fair idea about placements and the type of companies coming along with the profiles offered...As far as PGDM faculty teaching PGDM(RM) students...that should not be a concern for u as of now...
@ Fidel Mehra. Man i think u should start a new thread for XIMB PGPRM. I have some frns there in XIMB pursuing their PGPRM i called them and they r ready to help. btw r u a PGPRM student? I guess it's a good idea to start a thread since PGDM guys can't help RM aspirants much. I was planning to start a new thread then i stumbled upon ur post in "IRMA Admission Official Thread", so i thought i wud ask ur suggestion. What say buddy? 😃

Hi rave ....Fidel is a genuine PGDM (RM ) student and will be glad to help you out with all your queries regarding the RM course. But as we at XIMB look at the batch as a whole and not necessarily as BM and RM....lets keep all discussions to this thread. That way i think even a few prospective BM candidates might show more interest in this unique course as and when they come to know more about it.

Ok buddy no probs. I meant no partiality. Most of the RM aspirants r not aware of this thread albeit they have seen this thread b4 they r not aware that they cud get help regarding the RM. Last time there was a thread for XIMB i used to ask my queries there but didn't get much attention. So i thought starting a new thread with RM attached to its name wud bring it the needed attention. Or else u could edit the thread name and add Rural Mangmnt to it. These r just my perception and suggestions don't get me wrong. btw i didn't doubt the genuineness of Fidel's stream 😃 any way thanks for the initiative u took to start the thread and ur willingness to help. 😃 I'll try to bring more RM aspirants to this thread. Keep rocking
