First of all congrats on getting a call
Ximb has a GD/Pi both... The interview is not as stress as the XL one...
And some stress on acads are give,.... so be prepared with some topics..
in my PI i was asked about my fav subjects ...so it can be on that line

interviews can be stress or otherwise....mine was sort of a stress interview, panelists were making mockery of all my answers (its a different story that my answers weren't great either
)Importance of XAT scores: hmmmm.....its difficult to judge this, however, i can bet that interviews are very very important and holds key to the final selection
Brush up your acads. XIMB panelists are known for asking questions on acads.

weightage not in terms of marks but for PIs. Most of us were asked atleast some questions based on acads.

this aint exactly bout gd/pi but bout ur experience in general seniors!
i know placements r good n all but hw ws ur experience at ximb.
also around hw many ppl are given calls and wats the call conversion ratio like

i want to let u know one thing
after completion of my B.E last year in september 2005 i have been doin nothing other than studying for cat,xat etc for the past 4-5 months
so will this be put up against me
other than that
if i can judge myself
i think i am pretty good in gd and know exaclty what i want to be
so do u guys think i have a chance

well, i have a query. Thing is that i have been working for 18 months in a S/W MNC... but before that for 17 months, i was involved in marketing and promotion of a coaching centre started by my Uncle and cousin... i was also a faculty there.. although i had the certificates and all, i did not mention it while applying for XIMB- coz it did not fall under"organisation" as such... n i was basically into what you can acll family biz.. now, if i tell the panel about it, would it be held against me....????
And anyways, with 35 months experience(adding the coaching centre exp too), would they grill me on academics??

a lot depends on the panelists. Suppose you are an IT engineer or have work-ex in IT industry and one of the interview panelists have interest in IT field then you would be grilled on it. Otherwise too, as brain_any mentioned, basic knowledge of stats and maths can add to your advantage. My suggestion would be to brush up 2 or 3 of your graduation subjects.
