hey triss......can u plz tell me something,if a person has scored only 68% in xat,but rest: 10th-84% 12th-81% gradut=atn-70%
excellent extra curriculars........debates,plays,sports....evrything....i know he will get the call,but will it be feasible to convert at this score???m talking abt PM
also,the marks for extra currculars is added in the acads catogary...what are the marks alloted to extra curicluars,approx???i mean in any collg,how much weightage do they giv to extra curriclars??
well u have got quite a few queries...i guess u meant possible when u mentioned feasible...well as far as weightage at XISS is concerned its 50% for XAT, 25%- GD, 15%- PI, 10%- extra co-cirricular and work-ex...though its not a hard and fast rule for every year as far as other insti's are concerned the weightage given to extra cirr. is normally arnd 10% at max. they are very few exceptions though. as far as conversion(PM) is concerned the person definately has a chance....

you'll surely get a call from xiss they dont consider sectionals.....only OA i considered so dont be dead as yet you need to perform in a lot of gd-pis and have to make a great career for you all the best

As per the placement brochure for marketing and finance and the mandatory disclosure posted on the site things don't seem to be rosy.Considering most colleges do not update that frequently and some times miss crucial data, XISS lacks some very basic features which might be important to prospective students. Add to it the student profile as per the placement brochure is too gradutate (3yrs) (please forgive me if I am hurting 'feelings' here but facts are to be considered) with merely 2 or 3 B.Techs per a batch of 60 and the average work experience is (Apologies again but i have no intention to hurt sentiments or stir a hornet's nest)

well its a pleasure cuz i know how it feels at this time ..... ANYONE CAN INTERESTED IN GETTING ANY INFO REGARDING MARKETING OR FINANCE CAN POST ON THIS THREAD JUST BCUZ I'M IN PM DOES NOT MEAN I DON'T HV FRNDS IN THE OTHER STREAMS....
SOMEONE (i guess its sandy AND U AS WELL) did mention abt the lack of response frm our side...well 2 things 1st Pagalguy isn't quite a rage in our insti also i guess this is so as its a day scholar type insti. 2ndly we have got our annual fest in a weeks time...quite a tight schedule u folks can undrst... NOW WHETHER U WANT TO APPLY OR NOT IS COMPLETELY UR DECISION....BUT THE DECISION I BELIEVE SHOULD BE BASED ON MORE SOLID GROUNDS RATHER THAN SOMEONE NOT REPLYING IN NICK OF TIME 2 UR QUERIES.....

Prachi...the final cut-offs for selection is not a public affair... SINCE THER ARE QUITE A FEW QUERIES ABOUT THE ADMISSION QUERY I WILL TRY AND CLEAR THE AIR A LITTLE BIT...the whole admission process consists of 2 stages(excl XAT scores) the applicants are marked on a total of 500 marks which is all inclusive of the XAT score,gd and pi score alongwith theother considerations(extra-cirriculars,acads etc) there is a list on the insti website which contains the names and scores obtained by various people who have got thru...across all the dept's...if u don't find it i will help out in case anyone's interested,.

u are quite rite we are indeed perceived as the premier dept.u can chck for the placement figures one of my frnds maitrayee had posted quite sometime agotht is for the last year this year i must admit things are pretty bad owing to the recession..but still things are not over with regards 2 placements...the highest is arnd 7 this year

ok, agree with u, but can you please ask someone from officials side to update mandatory disclosure atleast, i hope officials have time for uploading correct mandatory disclosure, also tell them to reply to applicants mails and calls.
