Hi Seniors,

I have got 86.3 percentile in XAT and I am having work ex of around 4 years in IT and incore engineering field. Presently I am working in a software company.
I am looking for PSUs after my MBA.
So is it worth in applying for PM program in XISS?
My profile:
X: 86%
XII: 73%
BE: 64%
work ex:50 Months

plz help me.

for IM,Marketing program n if yes den how is the placement scenario for both of them,like wats the avg package.
10th 78.20
12th 72.80
b-tech- 76%

with loads of xtra cirricular activities.

It is written on the site that the cutoff is 30 points....
What does it mean? How is PGDM-Finance and what is the cutoff of PGDM PM
and PGDBM- Finance.. Can I apply throug MAT also?
If yes then what is the cut off for that????///

the cut-off is 30%ile not points for general and 20%ile for reserved
cant predict what will be the cut-off for pgdm pm this year but it should be around 60%ile
Only xat scores are accepted so you cant apply through mat

as far as getting a call is concerned u can definately get a call for both the courses. the avg package for Marketing last year was arnd 3.5 for IM it was arnd 4-4.5

Niharika..i guess ur query is pretty much answered...as far as cut-off's are concerned the cut-off's for application are the only one's declared....but if i were to go by my batch invariably evryone frm the batch has a score of in excess of 55%tile in XAT......the ag %tile score would be arnd the 70 range

pm is the best bet in xiss
the placements of pm are usually better than the rest
yes pm is similar to hr
dont have any clue about the average package for pm this year

Cut-off's for calls is always a dicey situation....but u can be rest assured tht u would definately get a call for the GDPI stage.....this year itself

hey triss......can u plz tell me something,if a person has scored only 68% in xat,but rest:
10th-84%
12th-81%
gradut=atn-70%

excellent extra curriculars........debates,plays,sports....evrything....i know he will get the call,but will it be feasible to convert at this score???m talking abt PM

also,the marks for extra currculars is added in the acads catogary...what are the marks alloted to extra curicluars,approx???i mean in any collg,how much weightage do they giv to extra curriclars??

can i get a call from pm.if i do not get then whether it will be better to join in im & finace or marketing. i seniors please give me other colleges that i can apply for in xat scoreof 63%. please show meright path.

well if ur only objective is to get thru to a PSU then all i can tell u with respect to XISS...tht we do have a sizeable number of alumni's at PSU's like NTPC, CIL etc....but then as u would know most PSU's don't actively participate in campus placements at B-school's
IN A NUTSHELL IF THT'S UR SOLE OBJECTIVE THEN I WOULD NOT STRONGLY RECOMMEND XISS.
