RRB JE Cutoff 2019 | Previous year and Expected Cutoff
The cut off for any competitive examination is the minimum qualify marks that the applicant has to attain to clear the examination. There are various factors that affect the cut off of the particular examination. The following are the various factors that affect the cut off marks of Railway Recruitment Board JE examination: –
- The total number of vacancies released.
- Number of candidates who appear for the examination.
- Reservation policy as per the government rules.
- Difficulty level of the question paper of the examination.
- Previous year cut off trends.
Cut off Analysis
Applicants who have applied for the Railway Recruitment Board Examination would be interested to know about the cut off analysis zone wise. It should be noted that for some zone the committee has released the double cut off.
The highest cut off in General and OBC category is for Ajmer Zone for Electrical department. While the lowest cut off in general category is from Muzaffarpur and Patna zone. For the OBC category, the lowest cut off registered is for three zones which are Kolkata, Muzaffarpur and Patna. Bhopal Zone has registered the highest cut off for the SC category and the lowest cut off for the SC category is registered with three zones which are Kolkata, Muzaffarpur and Patna. Patna has registered the lowest cut off for ST category and the highest cut off for the ST category is registered with Mumbai.
There are times when the applicant gets confused in deciding which zone to apply for while submitting the application for RRB JE examination. There has been analysis by few experts to conclude the safe zone of RRB in which candidates can easily apply and be successful in selection process. They are as follows: –
- Bangalore – This zone is considered as the zone with the lowest cut off in all categories as this has the easiest competition. One of the best safe zones of Railway Recruitment Board.
- Chennai – The second safe zone for easy competition of Indian Railways is Chennai.
- Bilaspur – The third safe zone is Bilaspur with less vacancies and low cut off trends.
- Malda – The next safe zone for the selection of the Railway Recruitment is Malda. Though the vacancies are less but the chances of getting selected are high.
- Thiruvananthapuram – The last safe zone of the Railway Recruitment Board is Thiruvananthapuram. The vacancies released are near only to few 100 but the cut off is low and thus the selection process is easy.

Cut off – Normalized
The board releases the cut off on the official website of the Indian railways. Applicants can download the cut off using their registration number and other login details. The expected cut off for the year 2018-19 is as follows: –
- General – Cut off to be 84-90
- OBC – Cut off to be 75-80
- SC – Cut off to be 65-68
- ST – Cut off to be 65-70
