The government of Karnataka established Visvesvaraya Technology University (VTU) or VTU Belgaum as a public university on April 01, 1998 The university has 65000+ students are listed in the undergraduate (UG) courses, while 12,000+ are listed in the postgraduate (PG) courses, and 1800 students are registered in the doctorate courses.
Admission is made through entrance exams such as JEE Main, GATE , KMAT. It is a premier university in the field of technical education in India. VTU has 202 affiliated colleges. It is the first University in India which offers a unique Digital Evaluation System like online delivery of question papers to VTU Affiliated Colleges, evaluation of thesis and the result announcement through mobile.
