Answer the PaGaLGuY B-school Rankings 2009-10 survey
Announcing the opening of the PaGaLGuY B-school Rankings 2009-10 survey of What India thinks about Indian b-schools.
Over the last two years, these Rankings of India’s Most Preferred b-schools have taken center-stage as the most credible and referenced Rankings among those looking to join an MBA program in India, or recruit from a business school. With a sample size of nearly 5,500 respondents in each of its previous editions, the PaGaLGuY B-school Rankings are also the most data-intensive B-school Rankings in India.

Salient features of Rankings 2009-10:
- 180+ b-schools: We have always said that we will slowly evolve these rankings over years. Now in the 3rd year, we are going to rank more than 180 Indian business schools (that’s up from 85 in 2008-09 and 76 in 2007-08 )
- Reaching the lower regions of the pyramid: Not everyone aces a tough MBA entrance exam to get into one of the top b-schools. Our focus this year is therefore to help MBA aspirants who rely on the MAT, state CET, ATMA, etc exams for their MBA ticket. The focus of this year’s edition is solving the problem of ranking smaller b-schools in Delhi-NCR, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad regions. The relevant question is – Which are the most preferred b-schools in each of these cities?
- National and Regional rankings: Based on the last point, this year we shall have several rankings, namely: Most Preferred Nationally Known B-schools, and city-wise rankings of Most Preferred B-schools in Delhi-NCR, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. The b-schools in the national rankings are not the same as those in regional rankings. We have made the segregation based PaGaLGuY’s internal intelligence and data from previous years’ rankings. You may go through the complete list of schools in the fray for this year’s rankings.
- Easier to answer: Answering the survey is now possible using one’s Gmail, Facebook and Yahoo! logins (long live OpenID!). This will help in increasing the reach of the survey to those who may not have a PaGaLGuY ID.
I invite you all to start answering the survey and discuss your experience here. This rankings will be stronger and more accurate as the number of people voting in it increases. So please ask all your friends, relatives who are MBA aspirants/students/alumni to take this survey!
However in this thread, we will not entertain posts based on why a certain b-school was not included in the rankings. If you feel a certain b-school should be in the list, please PM me and we will consider it strongly next year.
Before ending, an IMPORTANT NOTE to everyone, especially B-schools: You can answer the survey only once. Please do not try to answer the survey multiple times using different login systems, because we have ways to find such behaviour out. B-schools which try to play around with the system to strengthen their rankings will be publicly disqualified from the PaGaLGuY B-school Rankings without explanation. In the past, we have made B-schools punish erring students with compulsory social service, so pay heed!
