MAT (Management Aptitude Test) is a B-school entrance exam conducted all over India for MBA programs. It is known to be organized by All India Management Association (AIMS). Exam is conducted four times a year which acts as an opportunity to students wishing to pursue MBA. The qualified candidates upon cracking the exam can get admission into more than 600 B-schools situated across the country.
MAT is conducted four times a year, usually in the months of February, May, September and December. The mode of examination is both computer based as well as pen-paper mode. Candidates can opt for any mode best suited to them.
The MAT contains an objective type of questions in both PBT and CBT mode. Each question will have multiple options to choose from. Usually in each session approximately 20,000 candidates appear for the entrance test.
Eligibility criteria for MAT– Any stream graduates can apply and appear for the exam. Final year graduating students can also apply.
MAT 2022 Examination Date
The respective dates for the MAT examination have been released by the conducting authority, AIMS.
Since there are four different exams for each term of MAT exams, the entrance tests for MAT 2022 will be held during the period of May 15 to May 28. The first test for PBT as well as CBT mode will be conducted on May 15 whereas the second test for the PBT and CBT mode is scheduled on May 28.
The admit card for these four tests are scheduled to be released a week prior to the entrance tests. It should be noted that the last date for registering in these terms is May 9 and May 23 for the respective entrance tests.

MAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria
The Management Aptitude Test is conducted once every year by the All India Management Association. These are the exams beautifully designed to assess the ability of a candidate desirous of pursuing management programs.
The MAT exam is conducted once a year. However the whole examination is divided into four sub exams scheduled in the months of February, May, September and December. People call the difficulty level of MAT somewhat below as compared to the CAT.
The level of questions in the MAT tests vary from easy to moderate level. The scores of the test are acceptable at various prestigious management colleges across India. The only prerequisite for applying for the test is basic eligibility. Thus an applicant is advised to well check all the eligibility for appearing for the test.
The eligibility criteria for the respective test has remained unchanged over the years. This year too it is likely to be the same. All the details regarding the eligibility criteria are described below.

- However, candidates with any discipline can apply.

Note : There is no minimum percentage criteria before applying for MAT. However, admission into colleges is accepted only meeting the prescribed minimum marks set by the college.
How to register for MAT 2022 ?
The registration for the exam is only available using the online mode. For the May term of examination, the last date for the first PBT and CBT exam is 11th of May, 2022. While for the second PBT and CBT exam, applicants can register till 23 May, 2022.

- Step 1: The first step requires creating a login id and password.
- Step 2: The candidates can do the same using the official website. Click on the Register tab for initiating new registration.
- Step 3: Candidates need a valid email id with which they can apply online. The email id is required to receive the OTP used for verification.
- Step 4: Click on the Verify & Submit tab to create the login credentials.
- Step 5: All the details regarding the registration will be sent to the respective email address upon submission.
What are the documents to be kept ready before filling up for MAT 2022 ?
- A proper email id used by the candidate.
- A scanned photograph of the candidate as well as their signature.
- The size of the photograph file should not exceed 100 kB whereas for the signature, it should not exceed 40 KB.
- Debit card, Credit card or Net Banking details required for the payments.

Exam Pattern for MAT 2022
Since 1998 the All India Management Association (AIMA) is known to conduct a standard aptitude test for admission into various management courses. The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is held in four different months of the year.
After cracking the MAT exam, a student can get admission into various management and allied courses in over 600 business schools across India. MAT got its approval by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in the year 2003.
There are two modes available to give the exam. Applicants can either opt for Computer Based Test (CBT) or Paper Based Test (PBT). The languages available to give the exam are either English or Hindi. Graduates belonging to any discipline are allowed to opt for the test. However, the final year students in the undergraduate courses can also apply. The test is usually conducted four times a year in different months.

Syllabus for MAT 2022
MAT commonly abbreviated as Management Aptitude Test is an entrance test conducted in India since 1998. The All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts the entrance test. The candidates after cracking the exam are eligible to get admission into various management colleges. They can also enter some of the unified projects which are initiatives of some of the top business colleges all over India.
The exam is known to have an accreditation by the Ministry of Human Resource Development since 2003. It is conducted at different points of time throughout the year.
Examinees are allowed to opt either of the two modes of examination i.e. computer based test and the paper based test whose mode of instruction can be selected by the applicants. They can choose to give the exam either in Hindi or English. Graduates as well as the final year students from any discipline can wish to opt for the exam, provided that the final year students show the certificate of completion at the time of admission.
The application fees range from INR 1500 to INR 2600 depending upon the mode of examination selected for the test. The test scores of MAT have a validity period of one year after the publication of results.
The test consists of 200 questions and 5 sections. Each section contains a total of 40 questions.The duration of time is 150 minutes. The questions are asked from a plethora of topics like Verbal ability, Data interpretation and adequacy, Logical reasoning, General knowledge & basic thinking and matters of Indian and world affairs.

Admit Card for MAT 2022
The admit cards for different modes of exam like the PBT and CBT are issued separately by the conducting authority.
- The admit card for the PBT 1 and CBT 1 is scheduled to be issued on May 11, 2022 and May 25, 2022 respectively.
- The admit cards for the respective exams can only be downloaded after 4:00 PM on the specific dates.
- There is no provision for sending of Admit card to the examinee’s address by the AIMA.
- One can easily download the hall ticket or admit card from the official website of MAT entrance test.
- They can login using the credentials used while registration for the exam.
It is advised to bring a proper hall ticket or admit card along with a valid proof of identification in order to enter the examination hall. They should visit the examination center one day before to have knowledge about the route to the venue.

MAT 2022 Result
The results for the MAT 2022 May term examination will be released on the official website of AIMA. It is expected to be released within the 3rd week of June 2022. Candidates can check for the MAT 2022 score as well as the cutoff for the exam from the AIMA website. There are different modes to check the score for the exam. The different modes are discussed below.
Checking the MAT 2022 Result online
A candidate can check the results online using the respective website of AIMA given earlier. The steps to check the results are given underneath.
- Use the link to visit the official website of AIMA.
- Candidates must be ready to enter the registration id and roll number to check and download the result.
- Candidates also have to select the month in which they appeared for the exam in the drop down menu.
- However, there is a provision that AIMA will send the hard copy of the result to the successful candidates by post.
Checking the MAT Result using SMS
- This facility is designed by AIMA for checking the results through SMS.
- To get the results on mobile through SMS, send a message by typing MATS Form no. DOB to 54242. The DOB should be in ddmmyy format.
The validity of the score for MAT exam is upto a period of one year after the publication of results of MAT exam. It is accepted by a total of 600 plus management schools across India.
After the results are published, it is sent to the Management Institutes selected by the candidates at the time of registration. However one can also select more business schools after paying an additional fee.
Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their entrance test scores. After shortlisting candidates, they are called for a writing test, GD and PI rounds of selection. Though the selection procedure is solely based on the standards set by the candidates.
Scoring on the MAT Exam
The MAT score also consists of sectional results. The results are displayed for all the five sections of the examination. Some of the details about them are discussed below.
- For the section of Indian & Global Environment, a separate score is calculated on a scale of 0-100.
- However this section marks are not included in the MAT score.
- Thus composite score in MAT is calculated using the marks obtained in 4 sections only.
MAT Cutoff
The MAT exam consists of 200 questions with 1 mark each for every right answer. Many B-schools accept these scores. However one should note that the cutoffs for each college vary accordingly.
To get a rank in the shortlisted candidates it is very important to clear the cutoffs for admission into various colleges.
Cutoffs are actually the minimum scores each candidate must secure to be eligible to get shortlisted for joining the management institutions India.
