GATE 2017: What candidates must know about exam day
For GATE 2017 candidates
Candidates are permitted to carry their admit card, one valid original photo identification card, simple wrist watch (without any calculation device) and a pen inside the examination hall. The admit card is valid only if the candidate’s photograph and signature image are legible.
If they carry any personal belongings, it will be kept outside the examination hall, at candidate’s risk. They need not carry water, as it will be provided at the centre. Scribble pads will also be provided to candidates for rough work, and they must write their name and registration number on it before using. The scribble pad must be returned to the invigilator at the end of the examination.
Candidates will be permitted to occupy their allotted seats 35 minutes before the scheduled start of the exam. They can login and start reading necessary instructions 20 minutes before start of exam. And they will be allowed to leave the examination hall only after the closure of the test at the scheduled end of examination in a session.
Candidates whose enrolment ids are displayed as provisional on the official GATE 2017 portal must submit the required documents to the authorities in the examination hall.
