Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE is conducted annually by IIT/IISc for admission to M.Tech/ Ph.D. and other Government Scholarship/Assistantship programmes in engineering and technology subjects. Even in some colleges without MHRD assistance, the GATE qualification is mandatory. Apart from admission, many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) also use the GATE score in their recruitment process.
