TISSNET 2019 Selection Procedure

TISSNET is a popular online entrance exam for the enrolling to Full-Time Post-Graduate Degree courses such as M.A., M. Sc., M.H.A., M.P.H., MA (HR) offered at 4 different campuses of TISS located in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, and several other locations. The exam difficulty level varies from easy to moderate and the preparations for CAT and other management entrances is sufficient to get through TISS NET.

It tests English, Analytical & Logical Reasoning competencies of the candidate along with their General Knowledge & Knowledge regarding Contemporary Issues. Candidates are selected on basis of their TISSNET result. The selected candidates are then called for a round of Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview (PI) eventually leading to the final selection.

For English, Quant and LR/DI tests, the difficulty level ranges from easy to moderate, TISS NET places major significance on General Knowledge by allotting it highest weightage i.e 40 marks. The range of GK is wide. In order to perform well in TISS NET, you need to top the General Knowledge section. The good thing about TISS NET is it does not have a negative score for any programThis gives candidates some liberty to maximize their score. 

 

TISSNET Eligibility Criteria

 

Different M.A. degrees, for instance, M.A. (HRM) at TISS NET, holds a reputation as high as MBA or PGDM in Human Resources (HR) from a top Business school in India. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to M.A. courses at TISS is a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4- or 10+2+2+1-year course pattern or any other pattern satisfying the mandatory requirements of 15 years of formal education) from a recognized university. This is also the minimum eligibility requirement to attempt TISSNET 2019.  

TISSNET Selection Procedure

TISSNET 2019 selection procedure is a three-step process which is conducted in two stages. It comprises selecting the candidates for final admission round according to their overall and sectional scores obtained in the TISSNET exam. The enrollment process and cut off of TISSNET MA 2019 selection procedure is subjective of the program students opt for. The result of TISSNET 2019 will be declared in the last week of January 2019 in evening hours.

TISSNET 2019 exam for MA and other courses is conducted in two stages and has three components of assessment. All aspirants need to attempt the National entrance test (TISSNET). Based on the performance in the exam, only short-listed candidates are invited for the Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview commonly known as PIT/PI.

Final Selection Procedure for TISS NET 2019:

 

  1. The weightage for TISS NET, Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview rounds is given below for the final TISS NET selection process to prepare the final merit lists for candidates under General as well as for Reserved Category.

  1. The merit list will be prepared on basis of the merit and preferences indicated by the candidates at the time of filling up their online application form. 
  2. In case of a tie between two candidates wherein they score equally, their Personal Interview marks will be considered and the one with more marks in PI will be selected and in case there is a tie in Personal Interview marks too then their Pre-Interview Test/GD marks will be considered and the one with higher scores in Pre-Interview Test/GD will be selected, in case there is a tie in Pre-Interview Test/GD scores too then the Entrance test marks will be compared and the candidate with higher marks in the entrance test will be selected, in case there is a tie in Entrance marks too then the candidate higher in age will be given the seat.

 

Based on the merit lists for each course, the list of selected candidates will be put up on their website. Each candidate will also receive their scorecard indicating the marks for each component of the assessment process.
