Criteria for BITS Pilani Undergraduate Admission
Students who will be taking or have taken the 12th examination are eligible to take the BITSAT-2021 test.
Admission will be granted solely on the basis of merit. The merit list will be determined by the candidate’s BITSAT-2021 score. However, their admission is conditional on meeting the above-mentioned minimum mark requirement in the 12th grade.
Direct Admission: First-year students from all central and state boards in India will be admitted directly to the programme of their choice, regardless of their BITSAT score.
Exam Pattern for the BITSAT
- BITSAT is an online computer-based test.
- The test will take three hours to complete.
- It will be divided into four sections:
- Part One: Physics
- Chemistry (Part II)
- English and Logical Reasoning (Part III)
- Part IV – Biology or Mathematics
- There will be 150 MCQs in total.
- Each correct answer will be worth three points.
- For each incorrect answer, a -1 will be deducted.
Note: If two candidates have the same score, the following criteria will be used as a tie-breaker:
- The scores obtained in Mathematics/Biology (For B.Pharm) in BITSAT will be given first priority in separating them.
- If the tie still exists, their BITSAT Physics scores will be used to separate them.
- The remaining tie is broken using Chemistry scores.
- Finally, their total PCM/PCB (for B.Pharm) marks in the 12th examination will be considered for separation.
