CUSAT Placements
CUSAT placement is offered to those students who are interested in joining a company after their courses are over. CUSAT Placement Cell takes care of all the placement activities going on in the institute. The placement cell is responsible for contacting the companies that might be interested to recruit students from the institute.
The cell has a system of online registration of students on their website. The students who are interested in participating in the placement drive of the institute must register their names along with the copy of their resume clearly mentioning their skills and talents.
The cell is responsible for shortlisting all the eligible students and training others. Internships, which are an important part of the curriculum, are provided by the placement cell. Students can grab pre-placement offers while interning with the company during their summer break.
Apart from engineering campusing, students studying in the MBA courses also get placements. CUSAT MBA placement information can be obtained from the website.
In the batch of 2018-19, CUSAT was able to make great achievements in the placement activities. A total of 570 students were placed during campusing. Under the direction of James Verghese, who is the Chief Placement Officer, the institute was able to increase the student count by 200 in comparison to last year.
This year saw more companies from the software sector than core engineering companies. Around 105 recruiters from various sectors took part in the campusing. The average package offered to the students was 4.94 lakhs per annum while the highest went up to 18 lakhs per annum.
A total of seven students were placed with a salary package of 18 LPA, out of which 5 of them were solely from the Safety and Fire Engineering Department. Some of the major recruiters that provided job offers to the students were Amazon, CISCO, IBM, Verizon, Infosys, ONGC, Reliance, Godrej etc.
