FLAME UNIVERSITY CAMPUS FACILITIES
Nestled amidst verdant hills, FLAME University is a fully residential, state-of-the-art, professionally equipped campus that enables students to have a sense of independence and freedom to take responsibility for themselves and also feel constantly guided and looked after at the same time. The campus is an architectural masterpiece spread across 60 acres of green expanse. The campus has been designed by the renowned Vastu Shilpa Consultants, which was founded by Pritzker award winning architect, Dr. B.V. Doshi.
FLAME University is situated at the city of Pune, also known as the Oxford of the East, due to the presence of a large number of educational institutions. In addition to the academic advantage drawn from Pune, students can also build their professional network and access wider corporate exposure due to the proximity of the campus to India’s business hub, Mumbai.
Some of the facilities at the FLAME University campus include:
Academic Spine – FLAME’s academic spine is the central north-south axis that houses and connects the entire academic infrastructure with differently styled classrooms, amphitheatres, studios, labs, art centres, conference rooms and faculty and administrative offices.
Vivekananda Library – With more than 45000 books from multiple disciplines, the FLAME Vivekananda Library is a reservoir of knowledge. The library consists of quiet reading areas, discussion rooms, computer labs, conference rooms and a periodicals room. Adjoined by a water body on one side and a cricket ground on the other, the library also has a student lounge and café for discussions.
The Writing Centre – Located in a state-of-the-art Collaborative Space at the top of the academic spine, the FLAME Writing Centre builds a culture of thought and dialogue on campus, while helping students grow as writers / seek assistance to improve their academic, professional and creative writing skills through one-on-one sessions, retreats, workshops and more.
Housing – Housing facilities at FLAME comprise of apartment styled multiple housing blocks for students, faculty, guests and staff at the east, west and north side of the campus. The housing blocks are equipped with facilities like Wi-Fi, refreshment cafes, provision store, infirmary and laundromat. The student accommodation is on twin-sharing basis.
Sports – Sports is mandatory for all students. FLAME houses a 100000 sqft indoor sports complex with facilities for sports like tennis, basketball, volleyball, swimming, squash, badminton, table tennis, chess, snooker etc. FLAME also has an international size cricket ground, a football ground and an 18-hole golf course adjacent to its campus. Physical wellbeing also includes opportunities and access to Yoga, Zumba, Meditation, Cycling, Cross Athletics, Fun Games etc.
Centre for Performing Arts – FLAME’s Centre for Performing Arts serves as a central hub for the students pursuing theatre, music, dance and film and television. It also serves as a venue for cultural activities and community gatherings.
Centre for Visual Arts – FLAME’s Centre for Visual Arts houses a painting studio, a sculpture studio and a design studio. Understanding the importance of the left and the right brain, the centre offers students the opportunity to explore the world of visual arts and learn creative techniques.
Other facilities at the campus include lecture theatres, amphitheatres, recording studios, labs for research and experiments, editing rooms, dining hall, refreshment cafes, shuttle buses, infirmary and many more.
Along with modern-day infrastructure, the university provides numerous facilities for grooming its students to become leaders of tomorrow.
Some of the highlights of the student life on campus are Student Council, 40+ social, cultural and sports clubs, student exchanges, House system to drive close community interactions, 100+ industry interactions, alumni meets, faculty mentoring, etc.
